Understanding anarchism

History is littered with evidence enough to conclude that anarchism is yet another communo-fascist variant of altruistic socialism based on the initiation of force. At least history was what convinced me–that and the way “former” communists came out of the woodwork to infiltrate libertarian activities in 1980. The pattern was the same as in the 1960s and ’70s. Looters in those days infiltrated hippie activities the way they infiltrated labor unions in the teens and twenties and cult religions in the 1880s through the noughts. Bad laws resulted.

Most of the reasons necessitating formation of the Libertarian Party resulted from this infectious penetration-through-mimeses of social movements by predators convinced the world owes them a living. By the method of spoiler votes they added to American jurisprudence the force laws the LP has been successfully repealing by the same method these past 46 years.

The above news article dated 05OCT1905 relates that

…Anthony W. Olseon, age 25 of Youngstown, Ohio… shot and fatally wounded Hugh Hamilton… in front of Merchants Hotel, in Water street. Oleson fired four shots into Hamilton’s body, after which he caused quite a disturbance in the surrounding streets. He was finally placed under arrest. The cause of the shooting is not known. The police found a number of socialist pamphlets and a Washington, DC railroad ticket on Oleson’s person.

Police then speculated

… that Oleson is the same person who tried to reach President Roosevelt Monday afternoon, October 5, 1903. Superintendent Wallace thinks that the Oleson now in the Central Station is a former resident of Minneapolis and that on the date mentioned he entered the lobby of the White House armed with a revolver and knife.
When discovered by secret servicemen the suspect put up a fierce fight, Officer Olstell being wounded. Investigation on October 6, 1903, developed that the man was an anarchist and that he was known as Peter Eliott and Peter Oleson. He was committed to an insane asylum and escaped, being next heard of in Ohio.
The Youngstown, Ohio police wired that they believe Oleson could throw considerable light on the murder of a woman supposed to be Oleson’s wife, which occurred in Youngstown some months ago. Oleson answers the description of the man wanted  by the Ohio officials. He is a machinist.

Ask yourself if Oleson is someone you would vote for in order to reduce the initiation of force. If the answer is no, then why not help the LP purge itself of harmful, voter-alienating impostors? Cross-dressing to infiltrate our party for the specific purpose of bullying women or sanctifying Antifa-style communism had become a major industry. Our purpose is to shift policy, laws and the police away from coercion and toward freedom. Our purpose is to increase freedom by democratic means. Freedom is the absence of the initiation of force, so much so that it in the universe of political discourse it could be represented as 1-f, where f is the initiation of force.

Every libertarian vote decreases the violence of law. This is verifiable. Every vote in favor of Fabian communism in 1892 brought on the economy-destroying income tax. The banking system collapsed, union goons fired on men applying for jobs. A rabble of Altrurian looters marched on Washington to demand money in a scene that would not occur again until “brothers’ keeper” Herbert Hoover again wrecked the economy in Christianity’s War on the Demon Rum.

Violent racial collectivism formed a party behind George Wallace. In 1968, when there was no Libertarian Party, Dixiecrat National Socialists collected thrice the votes cast for communist socialists in 1892. Wallace’s campaign put Nixon in office and sent “a message to Washington” that rewound the South back into the ku-klux Reconstruction era. Violence blossomed like napalm until the LP made it possible to vote for peace and freedom and send THAT message to DC.

While waiting for the next in this series of historical accounts demonstrating that anarchism is still the murdering communism sane people know it to be, why not delve into what caused the 1929 Crash? Prohibition and The Crash–Cause and Effect in 1929 does exactly that, matching newspaper accounts against stock market reactions and competing theories. Cognitive Mental Blocks

Ecological National Socialists have no trouble understanding how two logical variables yield four possibilities when it suits their agenda. The NFPA circulates the above (admittedly garbled) chart in support of violent laws against anything liable to interrupt a game of dominoes at the government-owned fire station.

Genetics offers another illustration:

But teevee, subsidized by the Nixon anti-libertarian law to ignore everything except kleptocracy, can only focus on three possibilities.

Yet those same intellectuals become one-dimensional when challenged to understand anything that lies outside the Venn Diagram circles encompassing socialism in its populist and communo-fascist variants. A blinkered looter visualizes a straight line running from Hitler/Mussolini/Franco to Stalin/Ceausescu/Mao with nothing in between but religious gradations of socialist and mystical altruism.

To the entire satisfaction of mystical prohibitionists, adding alcohol to water eventually transubstantiates the latter into a Satanic alcoholic beverage, and adding (non-mohammedan) religion to a heavily-mixed economy gradually changes it from “bad” socialism to (by their lights) “good” fascism. Nowadays fascists and socialists alike refer to their own system as “democracy” and that other one, respectively, as socialism or fascism.

In These States the Tordesillas line was drawn at an alcoholic content of 0.5% in the Prohibition Enforcement act drawn up by Andrew Volstead of Minnesota. This distinction also made sauerkraut evil, Satanic and illegal. But when this law enforcing the Prohibition Amendment flipped off the lights of freedom on the night of January 16th, 1920, the U.S. Senate, by declining to be a party to the Treaty of Versailles, kept us technically at war with Germany, or The Accursed Hun as it was known at the time. So no True American™ really cared about sauerkraut.

Among today’s fanatics–struggling to ban electric power or plant leaves instead of beer–none have even the foggiest notion or how an individual right might be defined. To them a right is something the world owes them at your expense, not a moral claim to freedom of action. Most puzzling to this mentality is confrontation with the Nolan Diagram. Even survivors of the Argentine educational system can grasp a 2-gradient chart between freedom and orders at gunpoint when broken down according to the two primary contexts (individual personhood and agency as homo economicus) from which they fish for pretexts to justify aggression at gunpoint.

Here is an Argentine version of the Nolan Chart in its version tilted so as to allow the one-dementional to superimpose upon it their own universe of discourse confined to a horizontal line extending from Hitler to Stalin.

To American National Socialists, for whom Herbert Hoover, Richard Nixon and George Wallace are plain, regular folks, this Argentine chart makes no sense whatsoever. Ever since Carnegie Institute Liberals formed an anti-Klan, pro-Beer party in 1930, then published a platform demanding the repeal of the Prohibition Amendment, the word liberal changed its meaning. Shortly before Election Day, in late October of 1932, the ruling coalition redefined liberal to mean “godless communist drunkards who hate America” in the costume of its own imaginings.

Citizens of civilized nations are utterly baffled by this coinage–minted as it were in the very heart of the Sahara of the Bozarts over which Richmond Hobson of Alabama, Morris Sheppard of Texas and Volstead shone beatifically as the very embodiment of the Holy Trinity… while voters locked the head of the Republican Party into the stocks of the guillotine and gave the lever a satisfying tug.

Pero, no, y evite Evita

Argentine Libertarian Party

Eighty-seven years later, liberal everywhere else in the world still means libertarian. Cowardly, spineless, unprincipled or gelded libertarian, true enough, but libertarian or liberal is in both cases lies at the root of the noun denoting an individual who recognizes the individual rights of fellow human beings–even in opposition to the Divine “right” (meaning sanction to murder and rob) of kings, popes, caudillos and klans.

So all is not lost. Looter values begin and end with “we must issue the following orders at gunpoint” because (__insert rationalizing pretext__). If the pretext is “because the Bible says altruism is good,” then the speaker is fascist-prohibitionist-totalitarian in value orientation. If the pretext is “because selfishness feels like it ought to be denounced as evil,” then the speaker is a conditioned socialist-collectivist-communist-totalitarian.

Argentinos–politically separated by a papal line on a map–cannot completely let go of the one-dimensional lay/progressive v. religious/fascist differentiation. But today they at least they grasp the concept of how two related choices generate four possible outcomes. That’s progress Americans would do well to understand.

Open Borders, European Style

Importing Kristallnacht and National Socialism

Uninspected Entry for gentiles at Austria/Germany Border

There was a time when Europeans did not fear people crossing the border to disarm, capture and exterminate populations accused of insufficient altruistic zeal. By May of 1945 that open borders policy was no longer popular and the Austrian Government repealed the Anschluss law.

German politicians have since then adopted a sort of national flagellation movement. Rather than realize that their problems stemmed from mystical altruism, today’s Germans deliberately import racially semitic but culturally anti-Jewish fanatics, perhaps out of a sense of sacrificial atonement.

Some of our nouveau “libertarians” have been persuaded by anarchist infiltrators that “within a particular territory” ought to be removed from the objective definition of government framed by Weber and ratified by Ayn Rand and all other moral philosophers. Political change can be gradual, by vote, or bloody–take your pick. The harsh facts of recorded reality show that the closer one moves toward a state of warfare (that is, anarchy), the higher the rate of rape, murder, robbery and other unpleasant violations of individual rights.

Functionally, these data show that a shift toward anarchism/war has the same outcome as a shift toward socialism, especially in its communo-fascist variants–fewer rights, earlier death. One cannot ask for more objective evidence that anarchism and communism are the identical monstrosities newspapers have proclaimed them to be for the past 150 years. Machine-gunnings in Paris nightclubs, crushing of pedestrians and another refugee Exodus into Israel reinforce the proof with graphic explicitness only willful blindness can evade.

American voters have evidently perceived this. The vote in 2016 shifted overwhelmingly toward Libertarian candidates (up 328% to 4 million Presidential votes). A comparable shift in 1968 Comstockery empowered anti-communist Republicans of the sort that passed the Nixon Anti-Libertarian Law subsidizing entrenched looter parties out of tax revenue. The result of the Nixon law is that the IRS pays the media to ignore, dismiss and smear libertarian candidates. The only remaining way of communicating to Congress which laws we want repealed is through the mechanism of coercion-toppling, law-changing spoiler votes.

George Wallace Dixiecrats, irritated by JFK’s enforcement of judiciary rulings against segregation, netted 46 electoral votes from 5 southern states and shifted the entire Solid South into the Republican camp with 13% of the popular vote. Bryanist communism got the prohibition and income tax amendments into the Constitution after People’s Party candidates got 9% of the vote and 22 electoral votes in 1892. That’s the kind of law changing clout the LP could have with a little less sabotage from within.

Our mission has not changed:

“Even within the United States, all political parties other than our own grant to government the right to regulate the life of the individual and seize the fruits of his labor without his consent.”

We can earn more spoiler votes, hence change more laws, by minding our own business. By levering the fratricidal parasitism of looter parties against each we are gradually but broadly rewarding policies that reduce coercion. With another 6% we can excise the remaining force Amendment out of the Constitution. Shucks, another 10% of the vote would enable us to change the colors on the election map via the same sigmoid-curve process of substitution whereby tapes replaced LPs and were themselves replaced by digital media. Recall that this writer published The Case for Voting Libertarian in February 2007, and the math was aired on Gary Johnson’s “Live and Let Live” public access TV series in Austin, Texas.

Spoiling is Winning!

The Case for Voting Libertarian published February 2007

Oddly enough, the Libertarian Party’s share of the vote has increased in a consistently steep trend since that time. What you see in these graphs could easily be a causal correlation. I personally was sad and frustrated that our candidate’s weren’t being placed in office. But since the day I realized that Libertarian candidates are the ones causing the looter kleptocracy to back away from shooting kids over plant leaves, frog-marching youngsters into wars, bombing primitive villages–in short, all the things the 1972 LP Platform was against–I’ve been a happy camper.

Prohibition and Finance

How many dollars flowed through the illegal liquor, beer & wine business in 1929? Historians assure us that liquor consumption did decrease by as much as 40% under the dry law. Supposing that to be true we could use 60% of the ASL guesstimate as a proxy for the volume of liquids. But making a thing illegal is one of the most effective ways to raise its price. Marijuana prices have fallen by roughly 2 orders of magnitude after decriminalization in some areas, but beer doesn’t grow on bushes.

My estimate after 20 years of gathering figures is that beverages became four times as expensive under prohibition. Applying that multiple to 60% of the guesstimated 1914 liquor total yields 4.2 billion gold dollars. But the U.S. population had grown dramatically between the night of January 16, 1920 and the unleashing of Herbert Hoover and the 5&10 law upon the corn sugar and yeast industry that produced at least 80% and possibly as much as 95% of all the illegal beverage consumed occurred in 1929. Adding the effect of the 14% population growth that decade gives $4.8 billion. So how does that dollar amount compare to the size of the U.S. economy of 1929? (Hint: it was more than the Federal budget–about 5% of GNP). The Wickersham Commission, appointed to downplay the total, came up with a slightly smaller figure. Clark Warburton, the economist who coined “Gross National Product,” came up with a slightly higher figure.

That’s right. Gangland trafficpreneurs had more income from liquor alone than the Federal Government got from corporate and individual income taxes, customs tariffs and the squeeze put on States. God fights on the side with the biggest budget, so of course repeal won, thanks to the Liberal Party repeal plank.

Find out the juicy details behind the mother of all economic collapses. Prohibition and The Crash–Cause and Effect in 1929 is available in two languages on Amazon Kindle, each at the cost of a pint of craft beer.

Opium Glut Canada

Let 'em eat opium!

How to increase morphine consumption

Prohibitionist China, defeated in the Opium Wars, ruined financially by the silver drain, wrecked by weaponized Tae-ping christianity, then humiliated anew in the Boxer Rebellion, finally ditched Manchu rule in 1911, as Jackie Chan so visually demonstrated. Opium and morphine from India, France and Scotland sat in the rain, for dock workers were not permitted to touch it. Prices fell, product backed up and warfare, rapine and looting ramped up in the Balkan States as the Taft-Roosevelt coalition sought a Hague agreement to regulate the international dumping of opiates.

Prohibitionism–as fanatical in Methodist America as dry Mohammedanism in the Ottoman Empire–was scaring the bejeesus out of the opium-farming Balkans, Raj, Cochin-china and Afghanistan. Everyone involved in converting that opium into acetylated morphine was also in a cold sweat–only without the cold-turkey prickling. England, France, Austro-Hungary, Germany-Prussia, The Netherlands, Switzerland and (less than before 1907) These United States were becoming anxious about the future. So why not pit one brand of prohibitionism against another in a sort of “Only Cure” economic jiu-jitsu?

Hatcher murderers for Jesus

Accept no free-market substitutskys

It was widely known, thanks to the philosophical outpourings of Mr Dooley of Arrchy Road, that morphine was added to liquor as prices fell. Mystical pseudoscience already regarded alcohol as an addictive narcotic, so the cloak of camouflage was ready-made. The added inducement, now that Mrs Winslow’s Soothing Syrup no longer put crying babies in dreamland had palpable economic and religious benefits. The richest woman in America, addicted since childhood, used ethanol to lessen the discomfort of withdrawal sickness.

Prohibition Resolution 1913

T’was the Fortnight before Christmas, when all through the House;
not a preacher demurring, save Hobson, the louse.
His stalking of brewers for hangmen to snare;
with Dry Law Amendment brought widespread despair.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds;
as adults they’d hear the cry “off with their heads!”

History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme.–Mark Twain

So… what caused the Crash and Depression to wait until these same fanatics had passed the Five-and-Ten law and sworn in Herbert Hoover? Isn’t it about time you found out? The same brand of pseudoscience that in 1913 brought cries for men with guns to do something about alcohol, now demands they do something about the imaginary hobgoblin of misanthropic global warming.

Bust Beer Buyers 1929

The folly of fanaticism with guns

Shocking even to fanatics!

Ninety years ago this month Senator Morris Sheppard of fanatically dry Texas designed a law to make buying a beer a felony under the Volstead and Five and Ten laws. This is the politician who wrote the 18th amendment and pushed it with blind disregard for what criminalizing a popular commodity might again do to the U.S. economy. This p 2 Chicago Tribune clipping for October 13, 1929 saw daylight 11 days before Black Thursday.

Dr Arthur J Barton, chairman of the national executive committee of the anti-saloon league of America, tonight said he doubted the constitutionality of Senator Morris Sheppard’s proposed amendment to the prohibition law, which would make the purchaser of intoxicating liquors equally guilty with the seller.
Dr Barton said: “I do not know of any general demand among the dry organizations and leaders for such an amendment. I doubt whether such an amendment would be constitutional, and I fear that the introduction of the amendment at the present time is untimely and unfortunate.”
Dr Barton said it was his opinion that convictions under the proposed amendment would be impossible to obtain.
“A fundamental principle and a specific provision of the constitution of the United States is that no man can be forced to testify when his testimony would incriminate himself,” he said.

Asset forfeiture story same page. The U.S. Treasury gleefully confiscated and sold off automobiles found with any amount of beer or liquor, with no regard for the companies financing the sale of the cars. George Bush Jr’s faith-based fanatics did the same thing with houses in 2006 and 2007, leaving the homebuyer with no place to live and a mortgage bill to pay off. Neither Herbert Hoover nor Waffen Bush had any clue how much money their prohibitionist looting would cause to vanish from the fractional-reserve banks and brokerage firms.

Enforcement murderers protected by law, same page. Senator Millard Tydings accused the feds of covering up 51 murders committed by dry killers during violent prohibition enforcement.  This is the same sort of thing practiced today on account of enjoyable plant leaves, and the amount of money involved is likely to be a neat fraction of the Gross National Product. But just as there was a Liberal Party in 1930, there is a Libertarian Party in 2019. Our repeal plank sends a loud and unmistakable message to Washington

Commonsense Whiskey Laws

Settled science in 1913 took for a fact that whiskey–like guns and automobiles–killed people and was a major worsener of crime statistics. No Constitutional Amendment protected trade and production of intoxicants, and only smoking opium was barred as an import as an example to impress the Chinese. Suggestions were advanced that persons possessed by Satan’s whiskey should be registered by the government.

The Scarlet Letter of Drink!

Drink owner registration

Concerns were raised, and some obstructionist pettifoggery, but gulping down the potions of Satan was not an enumerated freedom of action protected by the Bill of Rights, and legislation passed amid halelluljas to empower states to coerce common carriers and register users. The rising tide of Godliness lowered all rights and the satanic potion addict registration law joined the Bryanist avalanche of commonsense prohibition and income tax laws and Amendments popular at precisely the time a prohibitionist movement in China was creating an opium glut in Europe and Asia.

Yellow stars and tattooed forearms

Drinker Registration Fee, 25c.

And so it was that prohibition laws reestablished their putative hegemony over personal choices while creating demand for opiates recently suppressed. This revival after the terrible setbacks suffered in the Panic of 1907, when the Pure Food and Drug Law of 1906 took effect–and wrecked the economy–was regarded as nothing short of miraculous.

Hong Kong Statehood

Can Hong Kong apply to become an American State? Back when the Libertarian Defense Caucus, the Soviet Union and SDI were things, the folks with the most useful and realistic understanding of nuclear weapons were working physicists and engineers. Physics Today, the magazine of the American Physical Society, opened its letters section to debate on suggestions ranging from abject surrender to taking out practically all aggressive missiles enroute and demanding the aggressor surrender.

Of note was a proposal that Poland be admitted to the Union of These United States under Article IV, Section 3, as an alternative to Soviet communist domination. After all, Alaska was admitted as a State despite its closeness to Canada and Russia. Hawaii became a State, albeit following occupation by coercion, and Puerto Ricans have both Spanish and English as official languages. American Samoa is U.S. territory. What’s to stop the citizens of Hong Kong, where English is as official as in Puerto Rico, from applying for statehood?

Hong Kong was not prime real estate back when England was setting fire to Chinese coastal cities to force acceptance of opium exported from India. In fact, George Orwell’s father later worked in India as a government dope inspector. China made the mistakes of prohibiting native cultivation and banning the export of its assayed silver. The result was drug importation via smuggling paid for with money that could not re-enter the country under existing meddlesome laws. A Great Depression gripped the land as specie disappeared into hoarding and abroad–much like what befell America after its own version of Tae-ping christianity declared beer a felony narcotic.

To this process of economic collapse was added American promulgation of translated Bibles and mystical hagiographies from missions in Hong Kong. These were no more absurd than the State mysticism under the Manchus, and burgeoning masses of religious converts hastened to attack the Quing dynasty from within. The protracted opium and civil war–complete with North vs. South, cannibalism, and some 20 million dead–further impoverished and destabilized the Celestial Empire to the point where even communism seemed a lesser of evils. The sole attraction of communist altruism historically has been its removal of Revealed Mystical Faith from the wires and pulleys of armed compulsion.

The result is what Hong Kong seeks to escape, now that it has been involuntarily Brexited by the very British Empire that began the aggression. An application for U.S. Statehood is an alternative to assimilation into as mindless a hereditary collectivist dictatorship as anything the invading Manchus ever prepared for failure. Such an application might take the form of a circulated petition absent any alternative mechanism for manifestation of the consent of the governed. The fellow who suggested the idea for Poland in Physics Today letters had a detailed template all worked out back in the Solidarity era.

What’s the opposite of libertarian?

The Real Deal

I oppose the initiation of force to achieve political or social goals. That means Libertarian.

So what is the antonym of Libertarian?

Anarchist means doing away with laws that secure individual rights.

Cruel means willfully causing pain or suffering to others.

Truculent means eager or quick to argue or fight; aggressively defiant.

Pugnacious means eager or quick to argue, quarrel, or fight.

Coercive means using force or threats.

Violent means using or involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something.

Dangerous means able or likely to cause harm or injury.

Dishonest is behaving or prone to behave in an untrustworthy or fraudulent way.

Totalitarian is centralized and dictatorial, requiring complete subservience to the State.

Deadly is causing or able to cause death. Synonym: politically powerful

Menacing is threatening, especially in a malignant or hostile manner.

So… what might be some other synonyms for Socialist?

Cowardly is carried out against a person who is unable to retaliate: a cowardly attack on a helpless victim.

Unwillingly is against one’s wishes; reluctantly.

Examples from looter party platforms. (Guess which party…)

Example 1: We must go for 100% renewables, use our energy efficiently, phase out fossil energy and nuclear power while creating sustainable jobs in affected regions. To cut emissions fast enough to reach the 1.5°C-world we will push hard for a just transition towards a net-zero-emissions economy. An EU carbon budget and a strong carbon floor price are needed to strengthen our efforts.

Example 2: We advocate increased research on and development of non-fossil fuel resources, tax breaks for companies engaging in such, and subsidies for consumers wishing to change from fossil fuels to renewable domestic sources of energy. We believe that climatic change could be an existential threat to civilization, and we will cooperate with other nations in mitigating its possible effects. However, we will not surrender our sovereignty in this, or any other regard.

Example 3: The progress made over the last three decades against drug abuse is eroding, whether for cultural reasons or for lack of national leadership. In many jurisdictions, marijuana is virtually legalized despite its illegality under federal law. At the other end of the drug spectrum, heroin use nearly doubled from 2003 to 2013, while deaths from heroin have quadrupled. All this highlights the continuing conflicts and contradictions in public attitudes and public policy toward illegal substances.

Example 4: We will fight back against attempts to make it harder for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to revoke federal licenses from law breaking gun dealers, and ensure guns do not fall into the hands of terrorists, intimate partner abusers, other violent criminals, and those with severe mental health issues. There is insufficient research on effective gun prevention policies, which is why the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention must have the resources it needs to study gun violence as a public health issue.

Example 5: We support the right of parents to consent to medical treatment for their minor children and urge enactment of legislation that would require parental consent for their daughter to be transported across state lines for abortion. Providers should not be permitted to unilaterally withhold services because a patient’s life is deemed not worth living. American taxpayers should not be forced to fund abortion. As Democrats abandon this four decade-old bipartisan consensus, we call for codification of the Hyde Amendment and its application across the government, including Obamacare. We call for a permanent ban on federal funding and subsidies for abortion and healthcare plans that include abortion coverage.
