What I read in the papers

“that’s an alibi for my ignorance.”

Before 1938 only Americans had a Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Still, one could buy a gun in European countries–especially the ones that still owed Americans money from the previous World War. A German was arrested for espionage in the U.S. even before Austria was joyously incorporated into the Third Reich by popular vote. Unlike the case of deeply-indebted Texas joining the Union in spite of “anti-assumption” agitation (the Union bought Texas’ annexation by paying the Republic’s debts) the $35 million Austria owed Uncle Sam went to the National Socialist Rearmament Fund in that Anschluss.(link)

Shortly thereafter, with French officials already persecuting Jews to appease German belligerence, an oppressed youth bought a pistol, walked into the German Embassy and shot Ernst Vom Rath to death in a classic Jew Kills Nazi turnabout of Man Bites Dog. Unamused by the unequal but apposite reprisal force, Hitler’s government promptly passed Commonsense Gun Control forbidding Jews to own guns and smashed out all store windows in a Kristallnacht of violence to drive home their peaceful intentions. So peaceful were christian nationalsocialist intentions that when America joined the war three years later, atomic bombs were at the top of our to-do list.

Google misread this typo(link)

Imagine Your Humble Servant’s surprise on reading the above news of Soviet “peace” infiltrators in the first week of January, 1945, when the Manhattan Project was so secret that hardly anybody even knew the names of the top three Soviet spies already infiltrated into Los Alamos and eagerly ladling out fission bomb recipes classified Top Secret! Atomic Scientist and Atom Spy had not even entered the vernacular in January 1945. Japanese planes from Iwo Jima were still bombing American runways on Saipan; only a tiny amount of enriched uranium was on hand and plutonium production had barely begun. But the following pages gave the year as 1946!

Add Rome and Positive Christian Socialism

The only remaining mystery is… whatever happened to the real January 7, 1945 Prescott Evening Courier?

We Wuz Robbed!

Robbing is our bidness; we’re The Kleptocracy!(link)

When this Iowa newspaper was published, William McKinley had been promoted from governor of Ohio to president of the United States, and the communist ideology that had founded the Republican Party had shifted over to the Democrats. William Jennings Bryan’s Cross of Gold speech was mesmerizing the masses and cleaving the Democratic Party in twain – a development big-city machine Republicans greeted with whoops of joy.

Burning crosses and looter rhetoric

Sixteen years earlier the Democratic Party platform had decried the encroachment of despotism by vote fraud. After reaffirming its opposition to laws outlawing the consumption of alcohol and drugs, the party went on to demand a free ballot and decry the surrounding of ballot boxes by troops and deputy marshals to intimidate and obstruct the election, and the false count of electoral votes which in 1876-77 had installed the candidate defeated at the polls as President.(link)

Communism regurgitates and re-swallows

Hillary Clinton ran on a platform calling for police to shoot and rob Blacks, Latinos and hepcats in general over plant leaves (just like the Republicans). She also wanted to continue sending men with guns, tanks, napalm, landmines and flamethrowers out to murder women kids houses and villages, just like Lyndon Johnson and every Republican since Johnson. Naturally she was horrified, and shrieked “fraud” after losing that election. Her sycophants ran ads begging the electoral college not to install as president the candidate who had lost at the Great Unwashed polls.(link)

The reason Donald Trump lost at the polls was that the Libertarian party ran a credible candidate on a reasonable platform. Gary Johnson was not a bomb-throwing communist anarchist cross-dressing as a libertarian, and the LP platform did not invite suicide bombers and dangerous criminals to enter These States uninspected. As a result the Libertarian party was entrusted with 4 million votes cast by honest Americans. Both halves of the Kleptocracy recoiled in horror at this development, yet dissimilated by pointing the finger at imaginary Russian hackers or Jim Crow election laws.

Sleazy looter wokeness and cruel fanaticism are STILL The Kleptocracy!

The “Fusion” Republicans feared in 1887 was not the least bit nuclear. It was the combination of a Klan-ridden, communist-infiltrated Democratic Party resorting in its desperation to an alliance with a People’s party whose main platform plank was copied from paragraph two of the Communist manifesto. Today’s Democrats have reverted to a similar coalition re-tasking racial collectivism in a different direction. Republicans in the meantime have taken to copying the formulas successfully employed by Theodore Roosevelt and Adolph Hitler, combining racial collectivism with “ethical” eugenics and religious brainwashing. Out of that we got the Panic of 1907, the Crash and Great Depression, and World War 2.

Women voters got rid of Bert Hoover, the Klan, Prohibition and The Depression

Enough women voters were attracted to the Libertarian party platform in 1972 to encourage the Supreme Court to copy our plank and rename it Roe v Wade. By infiltration and sabotage, The Kleptocracy has managed to jimmy that plank out of the platform and turn the Libertarian party into a sleazy boys club dominated by communist infiltrators. As a result, the National Socialist half of The Kleptocracy has taken over the State of Texas so that women are now hunted like fugitive slaves in a Harriet Beecher Stowe novel. This could be the wake-up call the Texas Libertarian Party needed to summon the courage to reinstate individual rights for women in the platform, and thereby attract rather than alienate one half of the population. Here is the original Libertarian plank:

We support an end to all subsidies for childbearing built into our present laws, including all welfare plans and the provision of tax-supported services for children. We further support the repeal of all laws restricting voluntary birth control or voluntary termination of pregnancies during their first hundred days. We shall oppose all coercive measures to control population growth.

Libertarian Party Platforms, 1972, 1976.
Communist anarchist and mystical Republican delegates have had their say. Their Ignoble Experiment is a monument to failure.

The Libertarian Party’s 2020 nomination of a female Quisling pressing for bloody coat-hanger abortions and an ignorant tool advocating no-borders anarchism cost the Libertarian party ballot access to half the States in the Union and more than half the votes we earned in the 2016 election against the same Republican oaf and a senile prohibitionist Democrat. There is a lesson there that ought not to be forgotten.

Voter Suppression, 1931

Voter Suppression under Prohibition

Read the original stories (link) (link)

Beer was a felony, and Herbert Hoover was sworn to use federal agents to enforce the Women’s Christian Temperance Union’s war on getting high. The Methodist Board of Temperance, Prohibition and Public Morals declared all police shootings justified, with total immunity for the dry killers. The Liberal Party was formed by Pittsburgh Pennsylvania businessmen to run Thomas W. Phillips for governor on a platform to repeal prohibition. Socialist candidates avoided discussing prohibition, calling it a “red herring.” See Socialist Head Hails Cleanup.(link)

The idea was to eliminate a wishy-washy “moist” Republican named Francis Shunk Brown, and nominate Gifford Pinchot–a fanatical dry who even censored beer and hip flask scenes from movies at local theaters. Stage two of the plan was to defeat the hated Pinchot in an up-or-down vote on Prohibition.(link) The second stage called for throwing Liberal Party support to defeat dry bigot Pinchot and elect the proudly wet Democrat John Hemphill. This is the classic third-party chessboard maneuvering the looter kleptocracy fears most.(link)

Phillips’ candidacy eliminated the spineless Brown. There followed a race in which Republican Gifford Pinchot beat Democrat Hemphill by 5% thanks to a last minute patronage agreement with the Pittsburgh soft machine. This maneuver mooted the 366,572 votes, or 15% of the total, cast by Phillips’ Liberal supporters for Hemphill, the only Democrat the Liberal Party endorsed. The same paper elided mention of Phillips, and misnamed the Liberal Party the Liberay Party after the election.(link)

Kleptocracy looters lose 1931

Third party spoiler votes change everything!

That edition also mentioned the “almost forgotten Prohibition party” at the bottom of page 2.(link) One year later Herbert Hoover would be tossed out of office after every bank in the nation closed its doors, with the Dems winning the first of five consecutive elections. The Party of Principle seen its chances and took them to rid the nation of the primary cause of the Great Depression. The other causes, plant leaf prohibition and the individual income tax, are only now nearing repeal thanks to the Libertarian Party’s spoiler vote clout.

Republicans then and now

Pope endorses 24-hour work shifts

Republican exploitation was fun back then. Plant leaves were legal.(link)

I found the above item in the Meriden Daily Republican for Saturday, December 31, 1878. That was the year the Infallible Pope Leo, appreciative fan of Vin Mariani,  issued a papal bull decrying the cults formed by “semi-barbarian men calling themselves socialists, communists or nihilists…” (link) A free-trade agreement was entered into with the Samoan Islands, silver dollars were coined as legal tender and greenbacks were kept in circulation to please the Grangers and to simplify eventual resumption of the gold standard.

There had been some ruffled feathers over dry fanatic Rutherford Hayes having been declared winner in 1876 with 165 electoral votes to Samuel Tilden’s 184.  The difference required a swap of 20 electoral votes from Southern States for withdrawal of federal troops so that ku-klux “Redeemers” could make damn good and sure Black voters were suppressed, and kept from voting against Democrats.(link) Four years of “Lemonade Lucy” Hayes refusing to serve alcohol at the Executive Mansion were enough.(link) Hayes was succeeded by Arthur Garfield who was quickly shot by a fellow Republican who had not been awarded “his” hoped-for political sinecure.(link) Observe that in 2016, Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson got more votes than either of these Reconstruction-era candidates.(link)

Amid the fallout from crony-assassinations and Jim Crow election-stealing, Democrat Grover Cleveland was elected, defeated by another religious prohibiton fanatic, then reelected despite voter suppression on a platform to do away with “sumptuary laws which vex the citizen and interfere with individual liberty.” (link) Oddly enough, the silver glut and monetary crisis so stressed agrarian cheap-money parties as to bring a surge in neo-communist electoral votes. Cleveland’s second term was so awash in post-Republican financial problems and socialist orators that it stood by as Congress approved a Communist Manifesto Income Tax in 1894.(link)

The banking collapse was so widespread that Supreme Court Justices struck down that Income Tax and saved enough banks to cash their own tax-free paychecks. So ended the first Republican war on enjoyable drugs, and the closest thing to a libertarian Administration since the Jefferson and Jackson Administrations. Communist anarchist assassins and meddlesome coercive prohibitionists rapidly proliferated in These States and in the effete mystical mercantilist monarchies of the Old World, and communist income taxes proliferated apace.(link) World War I soon followed.(link

Economic Recovery, 1923

Prohibition, ergo Crash

Beer precursor crop crushed by prohibition, then relieved by nullification

There were two significant components to the economic recovery of 1923. One was nullification of prohibition law enforcement, when dry killers learned it was better to accept bribes than take return fire. The increase in U.S. hop production is proof of increased demand for the precursor plant buds used in brewing Beelzebub’s brewski. Continue reading

1929 State of the Union Message

Dry Killer Herbert Hoover

Branding folks felons for beer since March 1929

On December 3, God’s Own Prohibitionist, Republican President Herbert Clark Hoover delivered his State of the Union Address to Congress December 3, 1929. Here are the highlights:

…Owing to unusual circumstances, it has been extremely difficult to estimate future revenues with accuracy. (…) I recommend that the normal income tax rates applicable to the incomes of individuals for the calendar year 1929 be reduced from 5, 3 and 1½ per cent to 4, 2 and ½ per cent, and that the tax on the income of corporations for the calendar year 1929 be reduced from 12 to 11 per cent. It is estimated that this will result in a reduction of $160,000,000 in income taxes to be collected during the calendar year 1930. (p409) (…) The long upward trend of fundamental progress, however, gave rise to over-optimism as to profits, which translated itself into a wave of uncontrolled speculation in securities, resulting in the diversion of capital from business to the stock market and the inevitable crash. (p411) (…)

AGRICULTURE: The agricultural situation is improving. The gross farm income as estimated by the Department of Agriculture for the crop season 1926-27 was $12,100,000,000; for 1927-28 it was $12,300,000,000; for 1928-29 it was $12,500,000,000; and estimated on the basis of prices since the last harvest the value of the 1929-30 crop would be over $12,650,000,000. The slight decline in general commodity prices during the past few years naturally assists the farmers’ buying power. The number of farmer bankruptcies is very materially decreased below previous years. The decline in land values now seems to be arrested and rate of movement from the farm to the city has been reduced. Not all sections of agriculture, of course, have fared equally, and some areas have suffered from drought. (p413) (…)

TARIFFS: I am firmly of the opinion that their application to the pending [tariff] revision will give the country the kind of a tariff law it both needs and wants. (p415) (…)

THE BANKING SYSTEM: The development of “group” and “chain” banking presents many new problems. (…) The relinquishment of charters of national banks in great commercial centers in favor of State charters indicates that some conditions surround our national banks which render them unable to compete with State banks; and their withdrawal results in weakening our national banking system. (p423) (…)

FEDERAL PRISONS: In order to relieve the pressing evils I have directed the temporary transfer of the Army Disciplinary Barracks at Leavenworth to the Department of Justice for use as a Federal prison. (…) We need some new Federal prisons and a reorganization of our probation and parole systems; and there should be established in the Department of Justice a Bureau of Prisons with a sufficient force to deal adequately with the growing activities of our prison institutions. Authorizations for the improvements should be given speedily, with initial appropriations to allow for the construction of the new institutions to be undertaken at once. (p429) (…)

PROHIBITION: The first duty of the President under his oath of office is to secure the enforcement of the laws. The enforcement of the laws enacted to give effect to the eighteenth amendment is far from satisfactory and this is in part due to the inadequate organization of the administrative agencies of the Federal Government. (…) First, there should be an immediate concentration of responsibility and strengthening of enforcement agencies of the Federal Government by transfer to the Department of Justice of the Federal functions of detection and to a considerable degree of prosecution, which are now lodged in the Prohibition Bureau in the Treasury. (…) The District of Columbia should be the model of city law enforcement in the Nation. …there is need for legislation in the District supplementing the national prohibition act, more sharply defining and enlarging the powers of the District Commissioners and police of the District and opening the way for better cooperation in the enforcement of prohibition between the District officials and the prohibition officers of the Federal Government. It is urgent that these conditions be remedied. (p432)

LAW ENFORCEMENT: (p435) … We need to reestablish faith that the highest interests of our country are served by insistence upon the swift and even-handed administration of justice to all offenders, whether they be rich or poor. (…) I have appointed a National Commission… for an exhaustive study… including the special problems and abuses growing out of our prohibition laws. (…) the Department of Justice has been striving to weed out inefficiency… to stimulate activity on the part of its prosecuting officers… The department is seeking systematically to strengthen the law enforcement agencies… by removal of negligent officials and by encouragement and assistance to the vigilant. (…) Increases in appropriations are needed and will be asked for in order to reinforce these offices. …if the citizen… shall insist on selecting the particular laws which he will obey, he undermines his own safety and that of his country. His attitude may obscure, but it cannot conceal, the ugly truth that the lawbreaker, whoever he may be, is the enemy of society. We can no longer gloss over the unpleasant reality which should be made vital in the consciousness of every citizen, that he who condones or traffics with crime, who is indifferent to it and to the punishment of the criminal or to the lax performance of official duty, is himself the most effective agency for the breakdown of society. Our laws are made by the people themselves; theirs is the right to work for their repeal; but until repeal, it is an equal duty to observe them and demand their enforcement.

I have been gratified at the awakening sense of this responsibility in our citizens during the past few months, and grateful that many instances have occurred which refuted the cynicism which has asserted that our system could not convict those who had defied the law and possessed the means to resist its execution. These things reveal a moral awakening both in people and in officials which lies at the very foundation of the rule of law. (Hoover 1929 1974 404-436) (link)

Money was fleeing Federally chartered banks in order to not be confiscated via asset forfeiture should some officious dry killers storm the bank. Observe also that we now call the Laffer Curve was totally operative during the Coolidge and Hoover Administrations, when every cut in federal tax rates brought increased federal revenue and, in Hoover’s words, “fertilizes the soil of prosperity.” This optimistic sermon came after the Crash, with a Crash still wrecking the German economy, and banking panics already afoot in these States, thanks to use of the income tax as a club to enforce prohibition. Herbert Hoover was already proving that he himself, while enforcing prohibition, was “the most effective agency for the breakdown of society.”

Bust Beer Buyers 1929

The folly of fanaticism with guns

Shocking even to fanatics!

Ninety years ago this month Senator Morris Sheppard of fanatically dry Texas designed a law to make buying a beer a felony under the Volstead and Five and Ten laws. This is the politician who wrote the 18th amendment and pushed it with blind disregard for what criminalizing a popular commodity might again do to the U.S. economy. This p 2 Chicago Tribune clipping for October 13, 1929 saw daylight 11 days before Black Thursday.

Dr Arthur J Barton, chairman of the national executive committee of the anti-saloon league of America, tonight said he doubted the constitutionality of Senator Morris Sheppard’s proposed amendment to the prohibition law, which would make the purchaser of intoxicating liquors equally guilty with the seller.
Dr Barton said: “I do not know of any general demand among the dry organizations and leaders for such an amendment. I doubt whether such an amendment would be constitutional, and I fear that the introduction of the amendment at the present time is untimely and unfortunate.”
Dr Barton said it was his opinion that convictions under the proposed amendment would be impossible to obtain.
“A fundamental principle and a specific provision of the constitution of the United States is that no man can be forced to testify when his testimony would incriminate himself,” he said.

Asset forfeiture story same page. The U.S. Treasury gleefully confiscated and sold off automobiles found with any amount of beer or liquor, with no regard for the companies financing the sale of the cars. George Bush Jr’s faith-based fanatics did the same thing with houses in 2006 and 2007, leaving the homebuyer with no place to live and a mortgage bill to pay off. Neither Herbert Hoover nor Waffen Bush had any clue how much money their prohibitionist looting would cause to vanish from the fractional-reserve banks and brokerage firms.

Enforcement murderers protected by law, same page. Senator Millard Tydings accused the feds of covering up 51 murders committed by dry killers during violent prohibition enforcement.  This is the same sort of thing practiced today on account of enjoyable plant leaves, and the amount of money involved is likely to be a neat fraction of the Gross National Product. But just as there was a Liberal Party in 1930, there is a Libertarian Party in 2019. Our repeal plank sends a loud and unmistakable message to Washington
