Ever since 1968 Country Joe Macdonald has been a heroic pioneer by my lights. Imagine my surprise in discovering that he actually played benefit gigs for the Libertarian Party! Here’s a peek at what you can find on his website (link)

Some Differences Between You and the Major Candidates Running for Office This Year

1 The Economy
They are rich, have health plans and pension plans. If they lose their jobs as politicians they can easily get other jobs or simply retire.
You are not rich, just barely have a health plan, and a modest pension plan or no pension plan at all. If you lose your job you may not be able to get another one and cannot afford to retire.
2 Violence
They are protected by bodyguards, live in safe “gated” communities, drive in bullet-proof cars and work in “guarded” buildings. They don’t need to have or carry guns because their bodyguards do that for them.
You have no bodyguards, live in regular accessible communities, drive a regular car or have no car, and work somewhere where there is no protection against violence. You might have guns but cannot carry them around with you all the time and are doing other things besides just waiting for trouble to happen like a bodyguard.
3 Family
All the members of their family are very safe. They have health insurance and seldom have to travel the streets or highways regular citizens do. They do not do their own shopping, cooking, or washing, they have servants to wait on them. If they do not get jobs it does not really matter they still have plenty of money. They have as much leisure time as they like. They do not take care of their children at all; they have servants to do that.
Your family is not very safe. You could get run over by a car crossing the street or carjacked going shopping. Your family must somehow see to it that the shopping, cooking and washing gets done or there is nothing to eat or wear. You are living 24/7 and have no time to do much of anything but rush around “working.” Even your vacations if you have any are limited and rushed. You must take care of your children and other family members.
4 Gender
They can afford lots of lawyers to protect them and their rights to be sexually whatever they want to be. They are mostly male.
You can hardly afford one lawyer to fight for your rights. One half of you are female.
5 Voting
In national elections it matters very little if they vote or not, but they get to have a real vote on all the national and international issues that affect every aspect of your life. They can afford to lobby for issues they think are important and directly talk with important people to influence the outcome of important issues they care about. They are mostly white and male.
You can vote in national elections but the electoral college does not have to pay attention to your wants. You do not get to vote on any domestic or international issues at all. You have no access to important people at all. Many of you are not white and male.
6 War
They get to decide if there is a war or not but they do not fight in wars. Their family members do not have to fight in wars except if they choose to. They are not in the military and most of them have never been in the military. The outcome of wars that they decide to fight has very little effect upon their lives. They are mostly white and male.
You cannot decide anything about going to war. You may be in the military now or have been in the military. Your family members may be in the military or be forced to be in the military in times of war. The outcome of wars and your participation in war can ruin your life forever. Many of you are not white and 50% of you are female.
7 Abortion
They can afford to get or not get an abortion as they see fit. If they have an unwanted pregnancy they can afford to have the child taken care of by servants. They can travel to other countries where abortions are legal. They can hire lawyers to protect what they do about abortion. Mostly they cannot get pregnant because they are male.
You and your family can be ruined by an unwanted pregnancy. You cannot afford to travel out of the country nor hire lawyers to protect what you do about pregnancy. 50% of you can get pregnant because you are female.
8 Work
They have huge staff of people — some paid, some volunteers – who do work for them. They have secretaries, interns, chauffeurs, advisors and even “mouthpieces” to explain to whoever wants to know what or why they will do or did what they did. If they run out of ideas they simply hire a “think tank” to think for them. All of their expenses are paid for by the taxpayers and their rich friends. They have office space paid for by the taxpayers. They and their staff are mostly white and male… except for the interns.
You have to do everything yourself. If you screw up you have to explain to the world why you did. If you run out of ideas you just have to struggle with it. You have to pay for all your help out of your own pocket. You worry all the time about “cash flow.” You can hardly afford to keep afloat. You pay taxes. Many of you are not white; half of you are female and millions of you are not old enough to vote and are working illegally. Many of you can’t vote because you are homeless and have no permanent address.
9 Running for office
They can afford to run for public office.
You cannot.

The above Country Joe comparisons were posted 20 years ago. Since then, specifically since 2008, the LP has taken off. Our share of the vote increases 80% per year, tripping up the entrenched parties’ efforts to trip each other and grab more loot.  Suddenly they are deleting cruel planks and rushing to repeal violent laws in hopes the other will get knocked over by Libertarian Party spoiler votes. The graph looks like this with (01) being the 2000 election. In 2016 the LP got 4 million votes, covering the gap between the two entrenched parties in 13 states casting 109 electoral votes. Thanks to the LP.org, the electoral college now cares deeply about your wants.

Anarchist communism is an altruist religion

Communist anarchists hyphenated and rebranded as soi-disant “anarcho-libertarians” or Ancapistanis confuse taking a limit (useful math) with dividing by zero (mathematical fallacy). This is what happens when you abandon definitions.(link) Libertarians have since 1971 sought to reduce government functions to the protection of individual rights through objectively-defined laws against theft fraud and violence.(link) Even in 1776, before communist anarchism was invented, Thomas Jefferson pointed out the obvious, 

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. 

That sort of democratic laissez-faire is precisely what anarchists do NOT want. Anarchists loudly insist that ALL government is an evil poison, and that no tiny amount of it is safe. In this, as usual, they are joined by eugenicists, nationalsocialists and prohibitionists–all of them division-by-zero fanatics who reject the virtue of voluntary temperance.(link)

Back when communist anarchism was popular among the clueless, prohibitionism was also on the march.(link) The two factions collaborated to increase coercion via the 16th, 17th and 18th Amendments–with almost no spoiler votes and hardly anyone elected.(link) Just as anarchists want no laws against murder, prohibitionists (like their communist pals) want murderous laws against trade and production, especially of things like freedom, beer and plant leaves.

Republicans finally endorsed prohibitionism in their 1928 platform and lost the next five elections. 

The people through the method provided by the Constitution have written the Eighteenth Amendment into the Constitution. The Republican Party pledges itself and its nominees to the observance and vigorous enforcement of this provision of the Constitution.

Real life had another surprise in store for prohibitionists, who say ALL enjoyable drugs are poison, and ANY poison kills and therefore ALL must be banned for your safety by men brandishing loaded service pistols. Prohibition made it a felony for drinking water to contain over half a percent of alcohol. That’s 0.6 fluid ounces per gallon. Understand that drinking two gallons of pure water–without the shotglass of Everclear–means a 50% chance of death from shock. We know this because people died in water drinking contests during Prohibition, their electrolytes that severely imbalanced.(link)

A handful of hemp seeds was a prison time felony in 1969. German National Socialists wanted to exterminate ALL people suspected of selfishness when Herbert Hoover helped them to power.(link) All of these wrong positions arose from the pseudoscience of Eugenics.(link) 

Even assuming there were something bad about laissez-faire government, as nations move toward it (that is, away from communo-fascist socialism), life expectancy increases along with per-capita Gross National Product. So as is the case for beer, magic mushrooms, hemp, LSD, and any number of maligned items, the initial effect at least is beneficial. 

Hormesis curves are a lot like the Laffer curve. To Kleptocracy looters, cutting taxes is arterial bleeding. But whenever the Coolidge Administration lowered taxes back closer to 8% of GNP, government revenue increased.(link) To Reefer Madness fanatics, one light beer is Demonic Possession, but medical statistics indicate two shots of single-malt are a fortifying tonic.(link)

I have interacted with hundreds of communists over the years, and all are rabidly opposed to anything that makes human life longer or less miserable. Electric power, individual rights–the things without which life worth living is impossible–these they oppose just as religious bigots oppose beer, plant leaves, contraception and deterrents to aggression. Aggression is the one thing that communist anarchists and mystical caudillos together seek to maximize. Aggression is what libertarian voters seek to minimize so that freedom is increased.

Every child is sooner or later faced with the God conundrum: If God is all-powerful, can he make a rock so heavy that even He Himself is unable to lift it? The puzzle is a tiny intelligence test with consequences. Children who cannot solve it–the ones eugenicists used to refer to as feeble-minded–conclude that religious superstition makes no sense and are easily enlisted into some Communist Youth Movement–believing that to be the only existing alternative. Others, equally unprepared for abstract thinking, undergo a moment of epiphany from which they emerge convinced that God obviously can produce a rock to nonsensical specifications, and are thankful for having had the Faith with which to resist the Devil’s attempt to inveigle them into the Sin of Denial. They then back political efforts to jail or kill all who disbelieve. Two wrongs make zero rights. (link)

None of these children ever grow up. At best they metamorphose into communist anarchists, democrats, republicans or fascists permanently confounded by false contradictions and unable to mature into rational thinkers. The idea of individual rights as an ethical claim to freedom of action stumps them completely. (link)

The results assume various forms: 

• The Non-Aggression Principle says not to initiate the use of force against anyone. Therefore “we” should replace government with a state of war. 
• “We” must abolish all government because laws against murder require prior restraint!
• “We” must send armed agents of the Political State coercively reaching inside of women like Joe Biden because pregnant women aren’t individuals!
• Invading armies, plague carriers and drovers of herds of infected cattle must be welcomed, because border inspection implies coercion to prevent invasion!
• The tariff that funds Navy and Coast Guard inspections is a restraint on free trade (and hobbles entry of hostile biological, chemical and nuclear weapons) so “we” must abolish all tariffs (and instead keep the Communist Manifesto income tax).
• “We” need shoot-first prohibitionism because pseudoscience says grass is addictive and mescalin messes up your chromiums, so Creation Science predicts we’d mutate into apes!
• “We” need eugenics to wipe out the joos and make the world safe for altruism because eugenics says selfishness is an innate birth defect, like club-foot or feeble-mindedness!
• “We” must rob someone else to feed the halt and lame because coercion is freedom!

Smart children, on the other hand, instantly recognize a toy–possibly even a weapon–with which to confound grownups. Brightness in a child is the belief in the ignorance of grownups–a concept physicist Richard Feynman reworked into a definition: “science is the belief in the ignorance of the experts.” This approach pays off. Artless fathers respond to God’s heavy rock conundrum with “go ask your mother.” Less-neglected parents explain how universes of discourse(link) are subject to rules of engagement that do not admit such artless dodges as equivocation, division by zero or doublethink. So if you include an irresistible force in your premises, that excludes any immovable objects from that particular universe of discourse. If you include elections, that excludes anarchism. (link)

If you include a Libertarian political party in your plans, that precludes a platform to abolish the government, violate the Bill of Rights, or enshrine communist activities like bomb-throwing anarchism as some sort of protected “right” to invade, menace or otherwise initiate force or presume to retaliate. It does not preclude writing an intelligent platform calling for reversal of past mistaken amendments. The Prohibition of trade and production of alcoholic beverages was repealed by vote, and the Communist Manifesto income tax and illiterate election of senators can also be repealed. But candidates and planks that promise to violate the oath of office or Bill or Rights are a liability.

Rights will get you through times of no anarchists better than communism will get you through times of no rights!

Communist anarchists, Comancheria war party raiders, warriors against individual rights of women, of blacks or semites, people who think devils are real and borders imaginary, believers in Rapture, televangelists of Apocalypse or race suicide are all just as welcome to register and vote for Libertarian candidates as engineers, scientists, actuaries, statisticians, physicians, nurses, writers, loggers, roofers, carpenters, busboys, waitresses, entrepreneurs, inventors and even attorneys. But we do not need people incapable of understanding the simplest definitions writing our political party platforms. It is tough enough to keep changing the laws through the unrelenting pressure of spoiler votes without incompetent bungling or deliberate sabotage. Fair enough? 

As you read this, infiltrators are adding planks to nullify biology inviting child molesters into both children’s bathrooms, declaring girl-bulliers act “in good faith,” package-dealing “free trade” and “migration” to again invite uninspected entry of infected cattle, foreign agents and biological weapons into These States, abolishing your copyrights, elevating “desire” over the constitutional provisions for defense, replacing the functions of government plank with an endorsement of communist anarchism (a state of war), removing national defense from international affairs, (infiltrators with no passport or second language) meddling in the territories plank, and converting the self-determination plank into a Dixiecrat endorsement of secession. 

I move that every participant who voted to approve these frauds resign or face a straight-up vote of no confidence by all dues-paying members registered to vote. I am also searching for candidates to replace certain table officers and entrenched moles. (link)

Texas: No negro or libertarian voters

Individual Rights need not apply! See the original newspaper…

The Democratic Party of Texas would not allow blacks to vote in its primaries in 1932. Not, that is, until the Supreme Court slapped its wrists with a ruling that the 14th Amendment and 19th Amendment also applied to the Lone Star State, Klanbakes at the State Fairgrounds to the contrary notwithstanding. The case was Nixon v. Condon:

Executive Committee of the Democratic Party in Texas adopted a resolution that only white Democrats should participate in the primary elections, thereby excluding Negroes.

Here we are, 87 years later, and the Richard Nixon Anti-Libertarian Law still subsidizes those same entrenched political parties. It therefore follows, as night follows day, that their earlier strategy will be repeated–though ballot access–against the only party that seeks to repeal prohibition laws that have been a tool of racial collectivism since coercive prohibitionism first reared its ugly gun.

This is the confession that what antichoice Republicans fear is competition. Here’s hoping I can count on your vote to oppose this repetition of a bad mistake.

Severability and Spoiler Votes

Spoiler votes change the laws–escape!

The entrenched kleptocracy keeps government jobs and parasitical subsidies by duping registered voters into fearing “the” other bucket of crabs. Each bucket is a package-deal of unrelated lobbyist agendas. Many contracts are also package-deals thrown together by disparate stakeholders. Out of fear that the courts will strike down one of the more egregious clauses, a severability clause is usually stirred into the crab-boil.

A severability clause states that if parts of the contract are held to be illegal or otherwise unenforceable, the remainder of the contract should still apply. The Constitution works that way without the need for a severance clause. The 13th Amendment ended chattel slavery and voided the fugitive slave (=”property”) clause from Article IV, yet the Constitution survived and the Supreme Court even ruled that conscription wasn’t really involuntary servitude.

The Constitution is amended (for better or for worse) by small party spoiler votes. Religious fanatics casting 1.4% of the vote created the 18th amendment making beer a felony. Communist fanatics shifted the paradigm and added Communist Manifesto plank 2 as the 16th Amendment. No severability clause was needed. The severability that matters–that changes laws–is when you sever relations with both halves of the entrenched looter kleptocracy. They then have to change their platforms to try and lure back those spoiler votes.  Why? So their snouts–not the other gang’s–can be in the trough.

Crabs–scavengers for carrion–cannot escape a bucket because their fellow partisans in that bucket energetically pull down any who try to escape over the wall. In the Republican bucket, if a wealthy woman executive wants to reverse an unplanned pregnancy, that’s too bad. Mystical bigots will pull her down. If a producer does not want his son or daughter shot, robbed, raped and jailed over a plant leaf, group peer pressure grabs his ankles lest he escape the collective bucket.

Anyone in the Democrat bucket who is tired of being looted and robbed is likewise dragged down by United Front activists and scolded for attempted desertion under fire. After all, women would have “no rights” and there would be “no roads” if not for the Communist Manifesto plank 2, right? You’ve got to believe that faked temperature data is real or the Republicans will shoot, rob, rape and jail your sons and daughters over a plant leaf to please their prohibitionist hangers-on.

But will they change or simply lie? Fools will believe anything, and their conformist votes identify them as dupes. With that in mind, ask yourself if you really expect the truth from anyone committed to taking from others by force?

But what happens when voters can polevault into a completely different bucket, or escape to freedom? What paradigm shift results when your vote can tell politicians you say NO to robbing, murdering, bombing, or defrauding anyone? What happens when you finally realize that cowardice, dishonesty, lack of integrity is what dooms the crabs in those buckets to the boiling pot? In the past, what always happened was that the laws changed, and the Constitution changed. In the present, that change can be for the better. Do YOURSELF a favor. Increase your law-changing clout by voting Libertarian.

What’s going on in Brazil?

Brazil’s two most recent presidents have been anti-American populists of the looter persuasion, both of them chummy with the Bolivian, Cuban and Venezuelan governments. Two things stand out about these three governments. All were targets of massive United States intervention, and none of the three have anything resembling a Libertarian party. In fact, Lula and Dilma’s Workers Party is probably the most honest and (ignoring economic freedom) Libertarian party in the country. Brazil has 32 government-subsidized  political parties and voting is mandatory. All of the parties are communist, socialist or prohibitionist–-if not all of the above, and the people best situated to be able to tell the difference, Brazil’s voters themselves, have elected and reelected Lula and Dilma twice. They were practically national heroes until 2013, when something happened.

The North American colonies were of great strategic importance to England, and quickly mastered the arts of shipbuilding and weapons production. Portugal’s colonies, on the other hand, we’re deliberately kept backward and impoverished by regulation and predatory taxation. Docile Citizen is not a bad description of your average forced-to-vote voter, and Brazilian politics are pretty low key. Mussolini is greatly admired here, and whatever the Vatican utters quickly becomes law.

Right now, for instance, there is an epidemic of mosquito-borne disease that causes women to deliver pinhead babies. When the news broke, religious physicians spoke as one in first denying the reports, then casting aspersions, and finally removing nearly all mention of the public health hazard lest Brazilian women rise up and demand the right to legally terminate pregnancies. None of the 32 parties seeks to legalize abortion, and the illegal practice remains a lucrative source of tax-free cash revenue. Local telescreens likewise avoid all mention of legalization or decriminalization of hemp in Colorado, Washington, Canada, Australia or Portugal. Yet, oddly enough, two of the most loud-mouthed prohibitionist politicians–Maluf and Cunha–have just been politically neutralized by criminal charges/investigations.

Dilma’s opponent in the last election, a CIA-backed prohibitionist zealot whose name is associated with helicopters full of dope and landing strips–has also fallen glumly silent after incessant squawking since the day he lost. The whole situation reeks of superpower meddling. The Bush Dynasty régimes’ asset-forfeiture orgy destroyed the Brazilian economy–already disrupted before by similar Bush-Reagan policies of 1987-1992.  Bradley Manning’s disclosures revealed the the US was busily exporting asset-forfeiture prohibitionism throughout the world at a time when the United States economy was collapsing–possibly in hopes of shorting the suckers to recoup its losses when their economies predictably collapsed. Furthermore, it is common knowledge that the Workers’ Party is not fanatically bent on shooting youngsters over victimless nonsense like the erstwhile US-backed military junta with its death squads. Edward Snowden’s revelations of NSA spying on boodling politicians’ and magnates’ cellphones raises the question of whether recorded conversations and email intercepts might have been conveniently passed along to local authorities and opposition parties in furtherance of destabilizing indictments.

At this time it is hard to tell what is going on. All appearances indicate that some sort of Taeping Rebellion of Fifth Column infiltrators with a foreign agenda is once more afoot. I clearly remember the US intervention in 1964. That coercive meddling has done more to popularize Communism (and National Socialism) in the Southern Hemisphere than anything else. Now–with no nuclear-tipped communist empire on the map–would be an excellent time for the Republicans and Democrats to leave South America well enough alone.
