Mysticism and Fascism

Altruistic nationalsocialism

Read the original 1929 Chicago Tribune article

Remember the Lateran Agreements? The Romish Church doesn’t, but newspapers record how King, Dictator and Pope entered into another Byzantine Tordesillas pact–this one to divvy up power over the population of Italy. By Mussolini’s decree, Italian schools were required to include Catholic indoctrination of children too young to resist such conditioning.

In laissez-faire France, so many could afford cars that a movement was afoot to ban collective transportation. A decade later, National Socialist tanks rolled into Catholic (and Protestant) France and replaced Liberté, Fraternité, Egalité with Travail, Patrie, Famille. Jewish families were packed off to 40,000 Nazi camps, but every Catholic or Protestant in Germany acted surprised to learn in May of 1945 that even a single such death camp had ever existed.

Here is the current pope of Rome’s endorsement of Ecological National Socialism:

“The external deserts in the world are growing, because the internal deserts have become so vast.” For this reason, the ecological crisis is also a summons to profound interior conversion. It must be said that some committed and prayerful Christians, with the excuse of realism and pragmatism, tend to ridicule expressions of concern for the environment. Others are passive; they choose not to change their habits and thus become inconsistent. So what they all need is an “ecological conversion,” whereby the effects of their encounter with Jesus Christ become evident in their relationship with the world around them. Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience. (Laudato Si’, 217)

Below is a sample of current papist equivocations berating libertarian non-aggression. The speech, worthy of any South-American integralista surrounds the concept of “freedom” with a Vatican-worthy wall of conditionals, adjectival qualifiers and vagueness to disguise its collectivist calls to coercion. Observe how this Argentine Holy Father rearranges the National Socialist plea to put “The Common Good before the Individual Good” (Gemeinnutz geht vor Eigennutz in the 1920 original)

Calling for integral development means engaging in widening the space of dignity and freedom of people: freedom, however, not only in the negative sense of the absence of impediments, nor only in a positive sense as a choice. It is necessary to add freedom “for”, that is, the freedom to pursue its vocation of both personal and social good. The key idea is that freedom goes hand in hand with the responsibility of protecting the common good and promoting the dignity, liberty and well-being of others, reaching the poor, the excluded and future generations.

Plenary Session of the Pontifical Academy of the Social Sciences on the theme Towards a Participatory Society: New Roads to Social and Cultural Integration (Casina Pio IV, 28 April – 2 May 2017). Freedom in a political context is freedom from government coercion. But in the infallible speech, coercion by harmful or deadly force replaced by the more euphemistic equivocation “impediments,” suggestive not of government action, but ordinary features of terrain.  The dictionary in Mac OS defines impediment: “a hindrance or obstruction in doing something.” The example: “a serious impediment to scientific progress.” In a very real sense, faith and initiation of force are the two primary impediments to scientific progress.

The Pope’s mystical claim that temperatures are rising and coercion must be resorted to as an emergency measure is another example. Thermometer records not tampered with clearly show that temperatures have been decreasing since the Lateran Treaty was signed, as in these measurements for Texas.

Disclosure: this interpreter was as a child enrolled in two mystical schools in a country politically subservient to Rome. The conditioning evidently didn’t “take,” and in college I took physics and math classes. Indoctrination attempts nevertheless provided first-hand experience with the conditioning whereby mystical altruism offers the initiation of force as the only acceptable solution to imaginary political or social conundrums.

I am looking for other libertarian translators. If you know of any, please let me know.

1931 Moratorium on Brains

Christian altruists

Herbert Hoover in 1938 meeting with results of 1931 Moratorium

In 1931 Republican President Herbert Hoover and drug czar Harry Anslinger were pressuring Germany into additional curbs on heroin exportation while semisocialist Germany’s victims were demanding reparations payments under the Treaty of Versailles (which the US did not ratify, but which still involved $10 trillion in gold).

Hoover’s error is relevant to ongoing efforts to extricate These States from the Vichy Paris carbon tax extortion the Obama Administration tried to smuggle past the Senate. Already there is a severe shortage of nuclear power plants in These States–which is the whole reason engineers are forced to rely on coal–which is less clean and less safe by comparison. The Paris Capitulation can only benefit Communist China at the expense of the relatively free world.

As 1931 stupefacient drug prohibition negotiations proceeded, banks in Germany and Austria failed. Depositors were removing their money because they knew the influx of dope money would stop, but reparations claims were persistent. Hoover’s brilliant idea was to let France, Britain, Italy, Russia and others “temporarily” default on war loans payable to the USA. In exchange, they would let Christian altruist Germany default on reparations payments owed to the USA. That was the lose-lose theory of coercive prohibitionism. What happened under the Moratorium was that Germany kept exporting addictive poisons and using the money to build up the Steel Helmets, build submarines and battleships and entrench the National Socialist party. Immediately all of Europe began defaulting on war debts, and even commercial loans of private US capital.

Mystical collectivists elect Nazis, thanks to Hoover

Ayn Rand was a Hollywood writer and reader hanging out with pre-code movie stars like Barbara Stanwyck, watching Three on a Match (with husband Frank O’Connor), Scarface, Night Nurse (bootlegger hero), Dinner at Eight, The Secret Six and old Alma Rubens movies. At age 24, newlywed immigrant Ayn Rand was certainly aware of Russian and German anti-jewish fanaticism. All of America was painfully aware of Hoover’s solicitous concern for The Accursed Hun.

The smart Moratorium in Atlas Shrugged is Hank Rearden voluntarily offering rail on credit to Taggart Transcontinental. The dumb Moratorium in 1931 was Hoover helping Hitler’s backers arm and control Germany’s government. To this Ayn Rand drew too vague an analogy with the Moratorium on Brains in Atlas. Nor did she clarify the connection, possibly for fear of weakening Barry Goldwater’s GOP while the Soviet still existed. Dwight Eisenhower was, after all, the conquering Republican president of both These States and the Government of Occupation, and Richard Nixon was his vice-president and anticommunist Wingman when Atlas Shrugged was finally published. But the book was already in its tenth chapter in 1947, when Christian National Socialists were denying ever having so much as suspected that Henry Ford’s Fuehrer’s promise to “extirpate” jewish egoism in Mein Kampf was anything but a joke. That was the year Rand composed the Non-Aggression Pledge. That tersely-worded individual decision established a modern ethical position consistent with the era of mature nuclear physics.

Republican National Socialism

Truman denazified Germany

Truman and Trump stand at opposite ends of the approval spectrum

The most popular president ever at the 100-day mark was Harry Truman, who continued Roosevelt’s policy of keeping beer safe and legal.

Truman also presided the denazification of National Socialist Germany, a State Herbert Hoover had nurtured as Food Czar in 1919, and strengthened militarily with his Moratorium on Brains stopping collection of war reparations in 1931. Truman was sworn in on April 12, 1945. Two years later, while National Socialists were still being tried and hanged in Nuremberg, Ayn Rand wrote the Non-Aggression Principle whereby people should:

“…agree that no man or number of men have the right to initiate the use of force against any human being (and that includes the forcible seizure of his property)”

But according to Scott Adams over at Dilbert, Trump is under-appreciated. According to Scott, the major accomplishment was:

“Trump erased the “Trump is Hitler” hallucination that the Clinton side spray-painted onto him during the election.”

Is this true? Shortly before anti-dog-eat-dog religious conservative Hoover was drummed out of office, religious conservative Adolf Hitler took office in Germany. Here are some of Adolf Hitler’s 25 National Socialist planks:

7. We demand that the state pledge itself to assure the productivity and livelihood of citizens above all others.  If it is not possible to support the entire population, members of foreign nations (non citizens) are to be expelled.

8. Any further immigration of non-Germans Americans is to be prevented.  We demand that all non-Germans… be forced to leave the Reich immediately.

We see immediately that tough nativist deportation policies are a big draw for both the NSDAP and GOP. The Dems and GOP also declared War on Drugs that cannot surrender, and have thrice wrecked the economy via prohibitionist asset forfeiture policies:

12. … personal enrichment because of war has to be seen as a crime against the people.  We therefore demand complete confiscation of all war profits.

And the current Republican president swears that eminent domain coercion is necessary and good for our country. Compare:

17. We demand land reform suited to our national needs, creation of a law providing for expropriation without compensation of land for common purposes, abolition of taxes on land and prevention of all speculation.

Trump’s Attorney-General, like Republican president Bush and Republican Newt Gingrich, called for the death sentence for marijuana dealers. Germany outlawed marijuana in 1929, when Hoover was president and the NSDAP was a rising political force “over there.” Compare:

18. We demand a ruthless fight against those whose activities harm the common good.  Traitors, usurers, profiteers, and so forth, are to be punished with death, regardless of church and race.

Republicans, like National Socialists, worry about fake news…

23. We demand legal measures against the conscious political lie and its propagation through the press.

And the Republican Party is outraged at things at which many religious extremists take umbrage, favors a coercive Christian Nation, and, like the NSDAP, endorses altruism writ large. Check this out:

24. We demand freedom for all religious denominations within the state as long as they do not endanger the state or violate the ethical and moral feelings of the Germanic race.
The party as such subscribes to a positive Christianity without binding itself to a specific denomination. It opposes the Jewish materialistic spirit within and around us and is convinced that a lasting recovery can only come about from within based on the principle: THE COMMON GOOD BEFORE THE INDIVIDUAL GOOD.

All of these things, basically a nazification of These United States, are being pushed by Republican members of the House and Senate. The president is simply pushing the unpopular GOP platform. Republicans were elected by default because of the Democratic Party’s platform plank aimed at crippling the US economy for econazi carbon-tax pseudoscience. The plank banning reliable power generation was the only deliverable difference among the 71,000 words the two major parties published as their nearly indistinguishable platforms. Americans simply voted to keep electricity safe and legal. The oppression of fertile women, anti-semitic religious warfare entanglements, and jailing and shooting of youths over plant cultivars were package deals added to the GOP platform by mystical bigots.

Four million voters, equal to the voting population of Virginia, voted libertarian, causing the Republican candidate to lose in the popular vote count. The Libertarian platform offered to finish the work of repeal begun by the Democrats in 1932, and release millions of victims of victimless crime enactments–and keep electricity safe and legal.

If you understood this interpretation, it might be because I interpret for engineers, courts and attorneys.

Same Story, Different Government

newtonsilva010615 Liliana Ayalde is probably still a complete unknown to Brazilian voters baffled by media showdowns between their twice-elected president and the lynch mob of televangelist politicians that assembled screaming for her impeachment following her reelection.

Indeed, the same sort of thing happened in Paraguay after that same American official had served as US ambassador there, shortly after her expulsion from Bolivia. From Paraguay, Ms. Ayalde went to the Caribbean to work for USAID, an American agency concerned primarily with sending prohibitionists with guns to exacerbate the frightening levels of “drug-fueled” crime and associated violence. These are things that never existed in the Caribbean before fanatical American Christians began shooting up the place.  In January of 1931, Puerto Rico was demanding an end to American prohibition. The Supreme Court there refused to prosecute rum smugglers, and Republican President Herbert Hoover elected to personally travel to the island to bully justices into enforcing that alien law causing alcohol-fueled crime to skyrocket as the island economy collapsed. This, under the First Amendment, is the “free exercise” of religious intolerance and the violence of law.

The recent 800% increase in Caribbean homicide rates accompanying stepped-up U.S.-imposed prohibition enforcement and civil asset forfeiture is as completely surprising to our representative for CICAD, GAFISUD, OPDAT, MERLDAT, INL, FinCEN and GMPL mentors as their attendant financial panics and depressions are to government agencies and their gun-toting agents. Nevertheless, she was promptly named US ambassador to Brazil as financial collapse and Occupy Wall Street protesters dominated the headlines in These States.

By truly amazing coincidence, unconvincing nationwide protests followed her arrival in Brazil, as Brazil’s President, other politicians and many industrialists discovered, to their horror, that the NSA had been tapping their telephones, and that many were suddenly under indictment on charges filed by local Federal Police. Brazilian evangelical politicians who support all United States efforts to have prohibitionist enlightenment  raise drug prices for the childish-minded inhabitants of the banana republics were delighted to change the subject.

Where headlines once blared news of their own private airfields and helicopter-loads of cocaine, impeachment proceedings against the second-term president and boodling politicos and contractors from all 32 subsidized parties became the hot news items. That the prez is herself a former activist against the US-backed dictatorship and not at all popular among religious right-wing extremists is another one of those baffling coincidences so endemic to asset-forfeiture politics in the Western Hemisphere.

So, Mr. Newton Silva’s cartoon translates pretty directly from the Brazilian situation back to the American situation, as it stood before that particular prohibition-enforcement crisis was exported to the rest of the world. Grateful thanks.
