Economic Power v Political

Remember in physics how force x distance is Work? And the rate at which the work is done is Power?

John Hospers, the first Libertarian Party candidate for President, then an organizer of the Libertarian Defense Caucus gave a definition of economic power in his book Libertarianism (link)

Economic power is simply the right under freedom to refuse to make an exchange.

Ayn Rand defined it thus: 

It is the power to produce and to trade what one has produced.

She went on to explain that: 

Political power is exercised by means of a negative, by the threat of punishment, injury, imprisonment, destruction. 

In a free society, economic power is like the generation of electricity. It therefore follows, as night follows day, that the generation of electric power draws the boiling wrath of all sensitive, concerned and aware totalitarians, who imagine it will exterminate mankind, cause Misanthropic Global Warming Climate Change Sharknados as predicted by 1961 Soviet propaganda.

To politicians and weapons designers, political power is the rate at which disobedient citizens or foreign aggressors (or both) can be transformed into cadavers. It is the line integral of harmful and deadly force over whatever distance is needed within a timeframe important to them.

So next time you cast a vote, look at the ballot and notice that of the three options you have, only Libertarian Party candidate Jo Jorgensen offers you the opportunity to vote AGAINST the initiation of deadly force required by the increase of political power. That same option enables you to vote FOR the increase in freedom that means the same thing as the reduction of coercive force. It also means an economy less threatened by prohibitionist asset-forfeiture crashes, collapses and Depressions.

THIS is the either-or. The Republicans and Democrats BOTH want your sanction to beat the other looter so they can rob and coerce you with less interference. Only by voting Libertarian can you go on the historical record and figure in important statistical curve plots as being FOR the increase of freedom and AGAINST coercion.

This is the ethical decision, the choice between right and wrong, now placed before you. Germans made the wrong choice in 1933 by voting for a politician. The Japanese, Russians and Italians made similar mistakes in their choice of men while ignoring the laws of physics and ethical distinctions popular candidates urged them to ignore.

Would a self-sacrificing woke altruist toss a handful of burning straw into a forest to wake people up and Save The Planet? The job is easy… no annoying surveillance cameras to provide embarrassing evidence, and there are thousands of instances of similar arson going on right now within cities bristling with cameras. West Coast newspapers are now trying to avoid the subject and whine at how elected officials avoid being looted by the IRS.(link)

Use your Chinese computer to search for “forest arson” and screen after screen fills up with “climate arson nonsense,” “forest arson rumors,” and innuendo branding as loony anyone able to think for a minute that the people who deliberately set fire to stores to send a political message would ever dream of torching a single bough of one of Joyce Kilmer’s trees. The 1988 forest torchings torchings in Israel coincided with a sharp upswing in forest firebuggery in California, Oregon and Washington–States so loaded down with Asians that they insisted on a Chinese Exclusion Law back in 1882–renewed in 1893. The communist system in Europe was collapsing in 1988, with people fleeing by hundreds of thousands to escape totalitarian altruism. It’s a rare communist anarchist zealot who would pass up the chance to make Fearless Leader look good by amplifying terror of Misanthropic Climate Warmunism. But China itself has its own mysterious forest fires blazing, suggesting that two can play.  “Open Borders” rhetoric inviting uninspected entry is one of the chinks in Uncle Sam’s territorial jurisdiction that invite invasion by foreign commandos and facilitate arson by miscreants within.(link) 

But that’s crazy talk. “Sane” talk is Assistant Drug Czar Joe Biden bawling that Boss Trump is engaging in “climate arson.” Libertarian voters are witnessing the failure of a Kleptocracy so enraged by it’s own Janus-faced other half that it will deliberately burn cities and forests and shoot people in the back in a bid for more political power with which to wield added harmful and deadly coercive force. The Forgotten Man, 2020

Forgotten man in Opposition to Legalization and Public Awareness–The Drug Czar

William Graham Sumner wrote the original Forgotten Man essay back in 1883, and produced several versions. He explained that whenever altruists A and B get together to decide what C (Citizen) shall be forced at gunpoint to do for D (Destitute). C is the Forgotten Man in the equation, the man coerced into footing the bill.(link) This Citizen was in 1883 the Forgotten Man whose interests and happiness were entirely overlooked and ignored. Franklin Roosevelt tried to recast the scenario with Destitute–the victim of prohibition-induced economic collapse–as the Forgotten Man, but the ploy never did replace Sumner’s original–namely you, dear Reader. 

Just recently we’ve had to acknowledge a spate of murders committed by lazy, out-of-shape, union-collectivized policemen. Typically the victims are brown people. Eric Garner was suspected of letting people buy single cigarettes to allay cravings instead of loading up with sealed packs of habit-forming, Polonium-transmitting excise-generating drugs. He was gang-lynched by First Responders™. Philando Castile was murdered in his car with child and ladyfriend because Minesota First Responder™ Jeronimo Yanez imagined he smelled hemp–the stuff upon which the Bill of Rights is printed.

Atlanta cops woke a man up and shot him in the back. A black policewoman was no-knocked and riddled with bullets in her bed because Louisville politicians signed prohibitionist zealot orders to raid her apartment. The same happened to an elderly couple in Houston on orders no less fraudulent. And just the other day a brave First Responder™ shot an unarmed man in the back seven times for no good reason. Another 1009 people were snuffed out this year, always on orders from Democratic and Republican Party zealots imagining plant leaves to be avatars of Satan. No libertarian Party elected official ever issued such orders.(link)

Like Newton’s Second Law–the one with the equal but opposite reaction force–persons terrorized by politicians using arbitrary police as hired killers have taken to attacking police no less arbitrarily and just as violently in places like Los Angeles and Phoenix, Maryland, Washington and Oregon prompting a political officeholder to remark: 

“Thus far this year, 74 law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty in the United States of America,” he added. “Unfortunately, I don’t hear a lot of people speak to that.”

Well listen up. In 2020 America, entirely controlled by the East German Democratic and God’s Own Prohibitionist soft machines, altruists A and B issue orders for C (Cops) to murder D (Drug suspect), mostly brown and youthful. As inevitably as night follows day, fake news media hold microphones into which red-faced police union goons fume and sputter over the “senseless and cowardly” treatment of maimed and murdered officers–protected, of course from civil and criminal liability by the sort of “qualified immunity” that did not save Christian National Socialists from the gibbet at the Nuremberg trials. Their victims need not even be charged under Reagan-Bush-Biden Civil Asset Forfeiture, and may be shot like dogs with perfect impunity on any fanciful pretext thanks to the Asset Forfeitures Amendment Act of 1986 as amended in 1988.(link)

The usual link to the text of this law–“the” law which caused the Crashes and recessions of 1987 and 2008, and the Flash Crashes of 2010 and 2015–has been interdicted by looters in protest against a competing gang of looters.(link) See for yourself. The big difference today is that the Forgotten Man is no longer C, the angry Citizen or remorseless Cop on the beat. The perpetrators unnamed, unmentioned and unquestioned are the Politician, the Preacher, The Bureaucrat, the Prosecutor and the Judge who in the roles of A and B got together to have people murdered as “no-nonsense” examples. They are murdered to please “shall not be questioned” Legislators and Lobbyists whose pseudoscientific votes declare War on plant leaves feared as avatars of Satan. Voters aid and abet this connivance out of fear of social pressure.(link)

Plant leaves are incapable of surrendering, but the War proposition still makes sense to looters granted immunity from even being mentioned in connection with the results of their weaponized acquisitive altruism.  Today’s Forgotten Man is the Politician and Bureaucrat of the mixed-economy Political State soft machine. These are the deadly people I vote against; I vote Libertarian.(link)

These hidden persuaders–the Politician, the Preacher, the Prosecutor and the Judge–are never mentioned in the aftermath for the same reason Libertarian Party candidates are never mentioned. You wouldn’t want voters to think too clearly about the deeds their votes ordered done by the better people who know what’s good for the riff-raff.(link)

Killers with Badges, 1929

Gunfire-riddled auto in which Henry Virkula was murdered by ICE agents in 1929

Henry Virkula was out for a drive with his wife and kids when customs agents leapt out of the bushes and riddled their flivver with buckshot the night of June 8, 1929. This was during Dry Hope Herbert Hoover’s Administration under the Five and Ten law making beer a chain-gang felony 2 days before his Inauguration. Like today, the Methodist Board of Temperance, Prohibition and Other People’s Morals bellowed that the killing was “justified” under the eugenicist tenets of Positive Christianity. Dry Killers was the exact technical term used by citizens and newspapermen alike.

Christian National Socialists exulted in dry killer antics

First Responders were, as always, justified in murder, according to the experts on what Jesus would have done: 

“The second case was that of the De King killing in Aurora, Illinois.  That seemed perfectly horrible until the facts were ascertained and broadcast.  Now the most intelligent people know what happened and see considerable significance in the fact that the grand jury refused to indict the officer involved.  (…) On the Rouse case, the Board said Officer Rouse “killed a rum-runner in the act of committing two felonies,” adding: “The rum-runner had made an assault upon him by the use of poisonous gases produced by a smoke-screen device.  Officer Rouse was completely exonerated by the grand jury.  (…) (LA Examiner 6/17/1929)

Does this sound like a Minnesota cop union mouthpiece waving an “official” medical examiner’s report?(link) 

There were no throwdown guns, throwdown beer or throwdown medical examiner documendacities or rumors of active warrants to get overeager ambush murderers off the hook. In fact, the International Falls City Council promptly gave notice to Republican President Herbert Hoover on 18JUN1929: 

Dear Mr. President: The International Falls City Council voted and passed upon the following resolution:
                “Whereas at an open meeting of business men and city officials of this border city last June 14 an informal appeal to the President was drawn up, asking him to end the terrorism inflicted upon our citizens and neighbors by Federal customs patrolmen, engaged in prohibition enforcement;
                “and whereas, our appeal has remained unanswered, even though the vicious and unlawful conduct of said government agents have continued unabated‑‑except that there has been no fresh murder of our innocent neighbors;
                “Therefore, be it resolved that we, the City Council of the City of International Falls, in regular session assembled, do hereby remind the President that the memorialization of the citizens’ appeal was and is the articulate pleading of the community:
                “And be it further resolved that the City Council of the City of International Falls does hereby join its official voice in requesting from our President an urgent response to the pleas for help from our people. (Hoover 1929 1974  195)

Senator Millard Tydings of Maryland was at the time compiling a list of prohibition murders, naming names and giving particulars for publication in “Before and After Prohibition,” so politicians encountered tough sledding trying to ignore over a thousand slaughters.(link)

“Send these murderers to the penitentiary” appeared in Congressional debates.(link)

None of this mattered. It was only late in 1929 that statistician Clark Warburton began pointing out that the black market in banned beverages amounted to 5% of the entire U.S. economy, an amount larger than the entire budget of the federal government tasked by the 18th Amendment with killing, confiscating, libeling, padlocking, jailing and murdering every man woman and child in These States if that’s what it would take to force people to drink what the Prohibition Party ordered them to drink.(link) The Prohibition Party averaged 1.4% of the vote in 11 electoral campaigns. There was no Libertarian Party, but there was a Liberal Party demanding repeal.(link)

By January of 1930, no religious fanatics dared debate the Association Against the Prohibition Amendment, armed with Warburton’s exhaustive reports and calculations on consumption of every possible ingredient used in the production of recreational beverages.(link) Women came out for repeal and financial collapse, unemployment, burgeoning prisons, Hoovervilles, riots, blockades, arson, cop-killings, hunger and economic contraction got the voters’ attention.(link)

The Democrats copied the Liberal Party plank demanding repeal of the Prohibition Amendment.(link)  Hoover promptly became a repeal advocate, but Republican National Socialism was into coercive eugenics and helping Hitler to power, and wouldn’t listen.(link) By March 4, 1933, with every bank in the nation already closed down, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was sworn in and the Dems–who had not yet become communists–ruled the roost for 20 years.

Dry Killers, 2020

FEDERAL Prosecutor initiates deadly force against wife, self. (link)

Dry Killers was the term The Chicago Tribune used to describe government agents and their hangers-on who routinely killed unarmed boys and men in the 1920s and 30s. Anyone who thinks this is a prohibition phenomenon that’s over and done with might care to explain today’s news–or news of the past century.

Federal Prohibition and Second Amendment Kristallnacht infringement mouthpiece Timothy Delgado turned up dead just north of Folsom Prison in California, where police say he apparently killed his wife, then himself. Whether the reporting is accurate or not, it is typical of fanatical prohibitionism–which after the complete economic collapse of 1929-1933 shifted from beer, wine and Demon Rum to coercion over plant leaves and their extracts. The other big change is that big shots at the Chicago Tribune had a lot invested in alcohol precursor chemicals during national prohibition. They evidently have no such stake in Post-Nixon avatars of Satan. Fanatics infiltrating federal agencies, on the other hand, most certainly have a serious stake in the initiation of deadly force.(link)

Tribune reporters back then tracked down and reported on every storeowner, housewife and boat operator murdered in cold blood by prohibition agents. Nowadays such events are typically reported only by Reason Magazine writers. Prohibition killings are masked as “resisting arrest” and other such euphemistic camouflage, and a way is in every case found to minimize their impact on public perception. But America was not always so like a Christian National Socialist Democracy.(link)

Chicago was then and is now home to the largest glucose corn sugar plant on planet Earth. Yeast and sugar companies bankrolled bootleggers who installed refinery-grade continuous stills in bankrupt three-story mansions after The Crash. These outfits could afford to repay the political State in its own coin. This actually happened twice. In 1921-22 civilian posse comitatus‘ hunted down killers with badges as the economy collapsed, then a truce was established. The economic effect can be seen in this graph for hops, a precursor plant used to brew Beelzebub’s beer.(link)

The truce broke down when the Klan defected from the Dems in 1928 and helped elect Herbert Clark Hoover. Prohibition related murders–including the killing of federal agents–immediately filled all the papers, and tell-all éxposé books appeared right after the Crash–itself caused by withdrawals of money from fractional-reserve banks to avoid federal asset-forfeiture confiscation. That is a little-appreciated aspect of a fractional-reserve banking system after a looter takeover. Here is an excerpt from Before and After Prohibition, a 1930 compendium by Maryland Senator Millard Tydings:

ONE of the most shocking results of the ten years of effort to enforce national prohibition is the long record of killings by prohibition and other Federal law enforcement agents. Even among some of the strongest advocates of the “noble experiment,” there have been widespread expressions of revolt at this bloody spectacle. Information regarding many of these killings has occupied much space in the public press, and editorial comment upon them has been most denunciatory. Yet they continue—apparently an almost inevitable accompaniment of the enforcement of this law.

Senator Tydings managed to uncover some 1300 suppressed killings committed by prohibition agents that were kept out of the papers and seldom discussed–including cases of federal gangs gunning down each other! Here’s a fratricidal example from Tydings’ collection:

So this pattern of superstition, pseudoscience and political asset-forfeiture looting requires the initiation of force. This in turn requires killing people so that the law is taken seriously. Who advocates these murders? The answer is politicians who, like Germany’s NSDAP, represent Christian altruism–except for the part about how “thou shalt not kill.”(link) 

Thus, mystical collectivist cheapening of gratuitous murder stimulates demand for revenge and counterexamples, and the sort of agents and prosecutors attracted to this line of work do not even value their own lives, much less those of others. Remember this when next you hear one of God’s Own Prohibitionists seeking to pervert the Constitution and coerce women for “the unborn.” Just as Republican and Democrat prohibition fanatics cannot see “thou shalt not kill” in a book that does not condemn enjoyable substances, just so they cannot grasp “All Persons born” in the U.S. Constitution, or the absence, nay, denial of any federal authority for enactment of sumptuary laws.(link)

Incidentally, Millard Tydings was reelected over and over and served 44 years in the Senate.

The tug from below–spoiler votes!

Civilized men flying overhead were trying to kill George Orwell as he composed some wartime essays, especially The Lion and The Unicorn (link) Every nation in Europe was run by men who deeply believed altruism–as formulated by the mythical Jesus and by Auguste Compte–to be a good thing, not at all causally connected with witch-sniffing, the rack, the guillotine, burning at the stake or book-burning.(link) These things did in fact invariably coincide, the way Crashes and Depressions coincided with making beer a federal felony to justify asset-forfeiture looting.

Bombs fell out of the sky as materialist altruists fought mystical altruists in deadly earnest, each convinced no non-altruist alternative could possibly exist–much like the United States and Brazil today. Orwell, a collectivist, trusted the judgment of the “common man,” from whom the blimps, toffs, dividend-drawers and plutocrats could learn plenty:

The nation is bound together by an invisible chain. At any normal time the ruling class will rob, mismanage, sabotage, lead us into the muck; but let popular opinion really make itself heard, let them get a tug from below that they cannot avoid feeling, and it is difficult for them not to respond. The left-wing writers who denounce the whole of the ruling class as ‘pro-Fascist’ are grossly over-simplifying.(1941)

So what is this tug from below that unavoidably makes itself felt? It is not violent demonstrations, or the Kremlin would be in DC. It is also not lobbying by “non-partisan” single-issue groups. Not only are they castrated by laws ordering them not to influence elections, they have a financial stake in the continued existence of the hobgoblin they pretend to battle against. One clue is in the tug from above: political party platform planks.

Looter politicians avoid mentioning planks. Planks are what people read before donating money.(link) God’s Own Prohibitionist parties–yes there are two–promise to seek a Constitutional Amendment to prohibit birth control and all 3 or 4 communist parties promise to do the same to throttle off access to energy and take-home pay. Fascist partisans vehemently deny ties to religious nationalsocialism just as anti-energy parties cover acres of newsprint convincing voters they are “not really” communist.

Yet the 16th and 18th Amendments that wrecked the economy came from ku-klux and socialist platform planks, just as all current shibboleths against economic freedom and individual rights come from the exact same places. Parties that seek to divide rights take their cues from religious or materialist totalitarianism. The only party that regards freedom and rights as indivisible is the Libertarian Party. Visit your state or local LP to see what you can do to help. Your spoiler vote returns at least 20 times the change dividend if invested against the Kleptocracy.

Why Anarchists Infiltrate

If legalized murder and anarchism were my goal I would work against the Libertarian Party by removing 1972 choice planks and replacing them with invitations for anarchists and religious fanatics to again institutionalize extrajudicial killings–as occurred everywhere before WWI, and in These States from 1920 to 1933 under National Prohibition. Recent changes to the platform amount to exactly such an invitation.(link)

Spend some time with anarchists who pose as libertarians and one thing becomes clear. Defense of individual rights by objectively-defined laws is what anarchists do NOT want. Instead of Milton Friedman or Ayn Rand–whom they promptly turned against us, beginning in 1973 these miscreants follow a boring economist with a German accent and Hitler mustache and press NOW for rule by vigilante lynch mobs. They meanwhile alienate voters by loudly calling themselves “libertarians.”(link)

Here’s how violence in America changed as the Libertarian party’s share of the vote more than tripled. Not a single one of these spoiler votes was wasted. Nor were they impotent “protest” votes of the sort bled off by the Tea-talitarian or Communist parties. In fact, the collapse of totalitarian socialism in Europe cut off a major source of inspiration and funding for infiltrating intellectuals of the looter persuasion operating in These United States. Libertarian spoiler votes are the most effective way for individuals to induce Kleptocracy political parties to give up cruel and violent laws. The leverage advantage is enormous for every libertarian vote, especially with a hockey stick substitution curve growth rate.

The shedding of anti-choice infiltrators and provocateurs whose sole occupation was to enrage and alienate voters with asinine shibboleths also wiped away excuses for sabotaging the LP. Republicans clearly see from the decline of superstition, the machine-gunning of antichoice dictator Ceausescu and wife, the recognition of women’s individual rights here, in Canada, The Netherlands, England–even in Italy and Ireland (link)–guarantee that Comstockism will lose them elections, not net them graft, boodle, power and pelf. They and the Dems must choose between copying libertarian planks and joining the Federalist, Whig, Communist and American Independent parties in the dustbin. (link)

Yet many libertarians sit still while communist anarchist infiltrators volunteer to swell the LNC, spit on voters and wreck our platform. EXAME magazine is a leading voice of Brazilian National Socialism. Its publishers and writers sweat and struggle to keep the LP as illegal in Brazil as it is in China and Cuba. Guess whose face they published (in a photo labeled Gary Johnson) as representative of the Libertarian Party in the last election? Coincidence? or was that bad apple hand-picked to make the LP look bad in the largest country in South America. (The magazine was soon afterward restrained by court order, then sold off by the publishers).

These are not novel tactics. The Republican party seduced the ku-klux Klan into its own serried ranks as Tammany’s catholic candidate Al Smith threatened to repeal national prohibition in 1928. Sullum’s Drug Debate

Killing is the whole point of sending men with guns to kick down doors, fire on vessels and riddle automobiles with bullet-holes!

Watching Nick Sarwark get bushwhacked by the debating tactics of a libertarian-impersonating anarchist made for a sense of foreboding over Jacob Sullum debating a prohibitionist. The opening argument–that violent narcs murder and maim people–could have been copied from the 46-year-old news clipping above. (link) Sullum recited almost identical stories of brutal mayhem against bystanders and even brought up the deliberate mass-poisoning of populations by adding wood alcohol to ethanol–of which practice God’s Own Prohibitionist (a novelist and pseudoscience hack) feigned ignorance, even surprise.

Shocking even to fanatics!

Ninety years ago this month Senator Morris Sheppard of fanatically dry Texas designed a law to make buying a beer a felony under the Volstead and Five and Ten laws. This is the politician who wrote the 18th amendment and pushed it with blind disregard for what criminalizing a popular commodity might again do to the U.S. economy. Dr Arthur J Barton, chairman of the national executive committee of the anti-saloon league of America, tonight said he doubted the constitutionality of Senator Morris Sheppard’s proposed amendment to the prohibition law, which would make the purchaser of intoxicating liquors equally guilty with the seller.
Dr Barton said: “I do not know of any general demand among the dry organizations and leaders for such an amendment. I doubt whether such an amendment would be constitutional, and I fear that the introduction of the amendment at the present time is untimely and unfortunate.”
Dr Barton said it was his opinion that convictions under the proposed amendment would be impossible to obtain.
“A fundamental principle and a specific provision of the constitution of the United States is that no man can be forced to testify when his testimony would incriminate himself,” he said.

Senator Millard Tydings accused the feds of covering up 51 murders committed by dry killers during violent prohibition enforcement.  This is the same sort of thing practiced today on account of enjoyable plant leaves, and the amount of money involved is likely to be a neat fraction of the Gross National Product. But just as there was a Liberal Party in 1930, there is a Libertarian Party in 2019. Our repeal plank sends a loud and unmistakable message to Washington
