Doomsday Books and survivalism

No Third Party, Watch Big Brother!

The real Coronavirus… government-controlled teevee

Now that the communist dictatorship on mainland China has polluted the planet with yet another plague, people huddled in shelters have time for reading–as opposed to the screechings of kleptocracy teevee. One of the most apropos and entertaining novels for the times is The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis.(link) In it you will learn the intimate details of the bubonic plague the Far East exported to Europe and the British Isles back in the good old days before global warming hysteria replaced burning at the stake. The books downloads to any cellphone, tablet or Kindle device without your having to open the door. Due perhaps to this diabolical form of miraculous delivery, the novel lacks the Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat of the Vatican, but it could nevertheless save your life. Herbal Antivirals by Stephen Buhner is also practically relevant to the current crisis.(link)

A scientist-publisher I worked for back in 1982 had me ship out boxloads of Nuclear War Survival Skills by Cresson Kearny.(link) Saboteurs stole the heavy boxes of Golem Press books from the postal system, so I had to fill out insurance claim forms for replacement shipments.(link) Cresson Kearny developed his survival skills during war, famine and pestilence in China, and except for blast waves and fallout, many of the survival skills needed to shelter without the added aggravation of starvation, disease or vitamin deficiency are clearly explained with pictures and arrows.

Pat Frank was the pen name of Harry Hart Frank, author of Alas Babylon, a tale of Eisenhower-Nixon-era nuclear war, when cities were the smallest things bombers could reliably target.(link) Yet much of the aftermath is complicated less by fallout than to the very anarchy communist infiltrators assure us is desirable–just not for them. The rebuilding of civilization without hindrance by a central government is the backdrop for this most interesting and topically relevant story.

A mathematician and an engineer joined forces to write Lucifer’s Hammer, by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.(link) Here the same natural disaster that has befallen Earth many times in the past returns in the form of a comet impact unleashing all four of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Survival without supermarkets amid cannibalistic collectivism is a test of human ingenuity that rewards preparedness and familiarity with the facts of scientific reality.

Most of these books were written in an age in which altruist collectivism in its communo-fascist variants–complete with known slavery, famine, death camps, institutionalized torture and disappearance and the initiation of deadly force–was considered preferable to the prevailing mercantilist mixed economy by many organizations and individuals. Among these we still see the Union of Concerned “Scientists,” Physicians for Social “Responsibility” and International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War through Preemptive Surrender to totalitarianism. These vectors, now joined by real-life versions of the State Science Institute in Atlas Shrugged, remain a stench in the nostrils of humankind.(link)

Fallen Angels by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, and Michael Flynn is a book about these myrmidons of messianic martyrdom who even today still seek to ban electricity and appease the gods of Carbon Tax Collectivism by demanding that “we” grovel at the altar of parasitical Pseudoscience.(link) Most of these books are also available in audiobook format. Last but not least…

No energy, no life, extinction assured

Blocking Access to Energy KILLS!

The Democratic Party was a thing with platform and candidates before 1840, and long before The Communist Manifesto was ever smuggled out of Germany to be printed in England. But THOSE Dems were into quadroon balls, whipping slaves and low tariff rates–certainly not huge government debt enriching pet banks! In point of fact, Andrew Jackson’s nativist, anti-elite, anti-protectionist, low-tariff administration paid off all federal debt in fairly short order.

It is true that Jackson’s victory was in part a reaction against the Tariff of Abominations passed by congressional tax-and-spend Whigs in May of 1828. Jackson honored his oath instead of joining the nullification efforts, and whatever its faults, the high tariff did suffice to pay off debt with no thought of a capitation income tax… the tax the GOP and Dems want to keep in the Constitution rather than deport back to the Communist manifesto of Germany.

Today’s DNC is a trans-DNC, evidently existing to import the rest of the communist manifesto, berserkers in suicide vests, starvelings from People’s States and subsidize doomsayer Pseudoscience that prophesies electric power plants will broil the planet (freeze it? flood it? whatevah!) Republicans also want to subsidize any and all pseudoscience that says bullying girls and doctors to coerce involuntary reproduction is scientific and not superstitious.(link)

If Dem politicians cared a whit about securing individual rights protections for women, deregulating the practice of medicine and defenestrating pharma cartels so as to make birth control and health treatment affordable without subsidies. This would require setting aside the econazi agenda to forbid first nuclear energy, then all other means of generating the power needed to operate a city without human slavery.

Pro-freedom LP votes replacing decrepit looter kleptocracy votes

So voters instead went for God’s Own Prohibitionists, Libertarians and whatnot, and Dems lost a lot of paychecks. Put differently, those defenestrated office-seekers are now trans into wannabees. Their agenda–elect looters–goes down the toilet when their looters lose. The Libertarian agenda, defeat totalitarian looters and thereby change the laws, wins every time our vote count exceeds the gap between winner and loser. This happens regularly in 13 states casting 127 electoral votes, and before the 2018 platform changes, that vote share was increasing by 80% per year.

Women are not represented by the Democratic or Republican parties, and engineers ought to have better sense than to throw away highly leveraged spoiler votes that could unequivocally make a positive difference by hindering suicidal policies.

Find out how looter party infiltration brought on the Income Tax and Prohibition Amendments that caused the Crash and Great Depression.

cause and effect

Why do refugees flee Statesward? Because the Republican Party’s 1928 Good Neighbor Policy began the exportation of the fanatical prohibitionism that brought on the Crash and left the US economy smoldering in the Great Depression. Prohibition and The Crash–Cause and Effect in 1929, explains how fanatical agents raiding banks in a fractional-reserve monetary structure SHRINK economies here, there and everywhere into black holes of banking panics and liquidity crises. The Visible Hand

The visible hand is the one that’s invisible to Socialist congregants… it holds a deadly weapon.

Adam Smith’s formulation of the forgotten, unproductive and withering hand of parasitism

Every socialist, communist and miscellaneous looter is fond of reciting Smith’s mention of the visible “invisible hand” of freedom, for it gives the impression of mystical superstition and life-after-death as the basis for valuing freedom as opposed to coercion. When was the last time you saw THIS tidbit of Adam Smith’s writings?

But if we consider the matter more closely, we shall find that this interested diligence of the clergy is what every wise legislator will study to prevent; because, in every religion except the true, it is highly pernicious, and it has even a natural tendency to pervert the truth, by infusing into it a strong mixture of superstition, folly, and delusion. Each ghostly practitioner, in order to render himself more precious and sacred in the eyes of his retainers, will inspire them with the most violent abhorrence of all other sects, and continually endeavour, by some novelty, to excite the languid devotion of his audience.

William Graham Sumner’s original formulation of The Forgotten Man included a cast of four characters: A and B, who put their heads together to decide what C shall be forced to do for D. “C” is the Forgotten Man, the robbery victim, the slave. The Forgotten Hand is an appendage of which of these characters?

The Forgotten Hand, the one holding the gun, belongs to B–the man A sends to rob C in order to pay the both of them for pretending to be doing something benevolent for D. “B” is a gang of government agents, paid to believe that whatever “A” decides is good enough to kill for, nothing more. “A” is the real culprit. “A” is the Congress that assures the crowd that freedom is selfish, that only the terrified, fearing for their lives, can be generous (or else!).

“A” is also the voter who elected to send men with guns out to take someone else’s money by force. Why? So that A and B can preen and strut as beacons of selfless nobility and disinterested altruism. In the Republican version “A” is the Congress, “B” is the IRS and DEA, CIA, FATF, AML, TF, CFT, DNFBP, IRS-CID, INL, ICRG, GIABA, GAFISUD, FSRB, FIU, FinCEN, EAG. In the Democratic Party version, “B” is the IRS and FDA, HEW and an alphabet soup of other, equally unproductive parasites.

These are the armed and infatuated ruffians who arrogate the power to destroy wealth in furtherance of some scheme of  expropriation. A “protective” tariff, such as caused the Rebellion of 1776, the Nullification Crisis, then the Civil War, is promptly countered by speculation in smuggling. Smith described the economic results of an entrenched kleptocracy’s resort to asset forfeiture:

By the ruin of the smuggler, his capital, which had before been employed in maintaining productive labour, is absorbed either in the revenue of the state, or in that of the revenue officer; and is employed in maintaining unproductive, to the diminution of the general capital of the society, and of the useful industry which it might otherwise have maintained.

The domino effect of confiscation, withdrawal of deposits, collapse of credit, liquidity crises and widespread bankruptcies brought about by Presidents HarrisonHoover, Reagan, Bush and Bush Jr is simply the reaffirmation of what Adam Smith wrote in 1775, and Ayn Rand improved and set on an ethical footing in 1957. There, too, was The Forgotten Hand:

I mean that I hold the upper hand!”
“With a gun in it?”
“Oh, forget about guns! I—”
