Good reading: The Banana Wars, by Captivating History. Who was Sandino? What was the Platt Amendment? Why does Cuba hate our government? Why does Venezuela hate our government? For that matter, why do LOTS of Central and South American countries hate the same looter government many Americans hate? The question is both practical and rhetorical. Back in 1986, before America went from Force Everyone to Just Say No to a market Crash and Depression, I debated a college professor before an audience of Crockett High School kids in Austin on the subject of national defense against nuclear attack. My adversary, a government-employed UTexas professor had no clue or notion of libertarian anything except as imaginary fascist, right-wing allies of girl-bullying religious Republicans. He harped on Ronald Reagan, the Moral Majority, South American religious fascism, and destabilization, infiltration and bombardment of the entire planet by greedy Americans. As a Libertarian Defense Caucus regular, I handed out free Ayn Rand books, explained the Non-Aggression Principle and defended legalization and free (but armed) trade. My mistake was pointing at Soviet aggression with no clue of how much the American looter Kleptocracy had bullied and invaded Latin America. It almost lost me the debate. The guy rattled off every boatload of Marines from the shores of Tripoli through the Halls of Montezuma to the Pacific isles and on to China. Don’t let it happen to you.

A LOW-TECH LYNCHING is what befell Reconstruction after the Civil War. The setting for the event was the largest building in the United States Customs Union, the New Orleans Custom House. The War to Preserve the Customs Union was quick to subdue the tariff-revenue-generating port city of New Orleans. Bluejackets rushed to occupy the Confederate State whose star-spangled patch of blue–so eerily resembling the Current Flag of Europe–flew briefly over that Palace of Protectionism housing the Federal court. Southern Confederate Democrats claimed “we wuz robbed” after the Civil Rights act and Reconstruction amendments allowed black voters to elect officials and politicians. White Supremacists formed the Ku Klux Klan, Wide-Awake Clubs, Innocents Clubs, Knights of the White Camelia, White League and Silver whatnots to rob and murder black voters and elected officials. In the Ku Klux Klan trials, Democrat defense lawyers argued the 13th and 14th Amendments offered all persons born no privileges and immunities from State governments or from extrajudicial violence committed by non-state actors eager to keep them down on the farm. Those “rights” Amendments, the Dems argued, only protected some people from federal manacles.
But federal monopoly replaced and outlawed Lysander Spooner’s post offices, so Northern post-Bellum fanatical bigots became suddenly eager to burn books, not shanties. They banned ALL forms of birth control, including information on abstinence sent through the mail from mothers to daughters–neither of whom had the vote in 1873.(link) Anthony Comstock’s law banned movement of birth control drugs as well, just weeks before a mob of Louisiana racial collectivists invaded the Grant Parish courthouse. Federal marshals found 59 black corpses, most of them shot in the back of the head, while only two white men were injured.(link)
Comstock laws in the North and Klan trials in the South eroded support for Grant’s Republican party. So the DOJ got a proslavery circuit judge to make the 13th and 14th Amendments completely meaningless and the Supreme Court let that stand. Sound familiar? Republicans kept the high tariff they won in the Civil War and in exchange let collectivist Southern Dems recover the rape and slavery they’d surrendered. Today’s 13th Amendment enslaves conscripts of all colors and lets States force women to reproduce. The 14th Amendment now lets Texas rednecks hunt pregnant women to kidnap into involuntary servitude–actual forced labor to suit racial collectivist rapists.(link) Genuine Libertarians opposed these things.(link)
Nixon, Reagan, Bush, and Waffen Bushie–and Trump–methodically packed the courts with coercive mystical fanatics. Meanwhile the Democrats truckled to dictators instead of securing the individual rights the Libertarian Party had conquered for women in fewer than 100 days beginning November 1972.(link) Now the Dred Scott fugitive slave-catching apparatus of Article IV, Section 2, Clause 3–which infatuated fools imagined had been wiped out by the Reconstruction Amendments–is baaack.(link)

Don’t count on the Libertarian Party to again enforce individual rights for women. The LP has been infiltrated by the same brand of Christian National Populists that helped the Klan infiltrate the Republican Party in 1928.(link) Their organizational input comes from Alabama, possibly with funding from (literally!) Nazi billionaires donating to Germany’s pronatalist AfD. That party has been fined heavily for campaign irregularities since 2016, with heavy fines and–since April 2022–federal surveillance. Schadenfreude describes the feeling of watching hostile infiltrators get a taste of their own medicine.

In college they taught me that central bankers and tariff protectionists caused the Panic of 1836. Government school textbooks reproduced cartoons of Andrew Jackson and Nicholas Biddle in a boxing ring, harped on the outrage of the Species Circular, and said not a word about what was happening elsewhere, like, in China.
The Chinese government decided in November 1836 that opium would not be legalized. The East India Company promptly complained to Lord Palmerston that “our property is in danger in China… you must protect us as British subjects.” In mid-February 1837, the Viceroy’s December 13th edict expelling the British and Indian opium dealers from China. An Australian paper picked this up after Martin Van Buren became President, as stock markets crashed and runs on banks became commonplace, and American papers contrived to take no notice British withdrawal of capital to fund an Opium War. Canadian papers complained of money problems, the size of the army and a Canada Coercion Bill!
When banks in Kingston, Canada suspended amid uprisings no less armed than in America, and China banned all gold and silver payments to foreigners, bickering American Whigs and Jacksonian Democratic-Republicans looked the other way. News coverage shifted to struggles in Iran and Afghanistan. The Opium War was noticed in America when sailors from the good ship Orwell (remember Orwell?) stopped a mob from crucifying some poor wretch. The very thought of a connection between America’s Panic of 1837 and wars that killed 25 million Chinese before the War Between The States is met with raised eyebrows. So how about a recent example?
Harmless Woodstock drugs were easily banned. Crash! Cartel dope replaced them before the Biden-Reagan-Bush² Crashes of 1987 and 2008.Prohibitionism eliminated nonaddictive drugs. Then asset forfeiture brought the Crash of 2008.
To the extent that Republicans admit to even remembering the faith-based 2008 Crash, they shrug it off as “another ordinary business cycle.” Yet since the Civil War, the Republican Party has done little else but increase the market price of primitive drugs through the violence of laws equivocating vice into crime. This led to or exacerbated economic distress in 1837, 1893, 1907, 1914, 1920, 1928, 1929, 1933, 1971, 1987, 2008, 2010, and maybe now as in 1987.

A copycat of Ted Turner’s “Who Is John Galt?” billboards–dotted across 1967 America–put up anonymous billboards urging Germans to vote for the AfD. The Association for the Preservation of the Rule of Law and Citizen Freedoms (as “freedoms” are understood in Germany) was pointed to but disowned by the Party. The Financial Action Task Force developed an interest in “beneficial owners” at this time.
February 2017: “Missing since 1945 – Adolf please report! Germany needs you!” the caption reads, with a likeness of Adolf Hitler. Elena Roon, a Russian-German, sent this and other pictures in an internal chat group. Roon was one of two candidates standing for the Bundestag for the AfD in Nuremberg. (link) U.S. libertarians were baited into demanding importation of terrorists in reaction to AfD complaints against excess Saracen rapists, gunmen and knife-muggers–this when a girl-bullying orange-haired Donald Trump was the freshly-minted US President. By September the AfD was the major winner in Germany’s elections, and its third-largest party, funded by some shrouded éminence grise. The virgin birth had taken nine months since the Trump/GOP Annunciation and immaculate conception.
November 2018: Der Spiegel publishes “The Billionaire and the AFD.” (link) Heir to the banks destabilized by Herbert Hoover’s Moratorium on Brains as bait for the Narcotics Limitation Convention, which in 1931 sharply curbed Germany’s income from drugs, had followed ancestral footsteps by funding belligerent, slaver, xenophobic, pronatalist, heavily-mixed-economy Christian fanatics–as in 1932. The AfD was immediately embroiled in investigations of how gold–chiseled from Jewish teeth and lifted from Nazi vaults of Aryanized banks–had bought the German election. In the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution v: AfD arm-wrestling that ensued, other billionaire Nazi heirs endowed Universities to whitewash, explain away and buy off the press. Magda Goebbels had been married to German industrialist Gunther Quandt before jilting him for the Nazi propaganda minister. She later poisoned most of her children in collective Christian National Socialist suicide in the Hitlerbunker in the spring of 1945. The surviving heir, a POW at the time, passed the family fortune to Susanne and Stefan, and the mess was now splattered across newsprint embarrassing to AfD-friendly BMW magnates. Nearly 130 tonnes of cocaine–once a traditional and respected German product–were seized at Antwerp. By the first week of March, 2022, the AfD had been defeated by German intelligence. So… what was Plan B? An Austrian Ludwig von Mises Institut Deutschland Konferenz was scheduled to commemorate AfD successes in East Germany. Meanwhile a replacement LP convention was scheduled for redneck Reno, Nevada, NOT the home of the 1973 Roe v Wade LP victory, Austin Texas.
26MAY2022: Mises Caucus takes over Libertarian Party, deplatforms objections to bigotry and rights for women, packs convention with girl-bullying mystics and pushes life-begins-at-erection comedian impersonator “Dave Smith” as future presidential candidate nominee. Smith flatly believes armed vigilantes should force pregnant women into the involuntary servitude and labor of reproduction, and that government laws should help this noble effort. This by his own statements in interview with Nick The Jacket of Reason Magazine.(link) Michael Heise recently gave a smug interview about what Hitler’s spiritual heirs have in store for the LP, and it is NOT to publish a sensible platform, run candidates and use spoiler votes to cause the Kleptocracy to continue repealing bad laws. Genuine political parties, however right or wrong their ideas, rise up, publish a platform and compete for votes. The threshold for successfully changing the laws this way is well below three percent (roughly the difference between Kleptocracy halves) so the effort pays off, for a dissenting voice cancels out the social pressure generated by a large majority. Parasites and angry madmen–the nuts that unbolt the workings of a political machine–customarily sabotage small parties to cause election results to favor an entrenched faction. Other times they take over the assets of some existing group and exploit it to benefit an outside party. The New German Reich was very put out when Americans organized a boycott of German goods. There had to be a way to nullify such efforts before they became a nuisance.
On October 13, 1933, a small group of German National Socialist agitators had enough members infiltrated to take over a traditional German-American Association in Los Angeles. The takeover was planned by the Friends of New Germany and the target was the German-American Alliance, a traditional grouping of ex-pats and immigrant families, with money in the bank, real estate and good standing in a community that included Hollywood. The Nazis showed up in force, elected their candidate to run the association by a one-vote majority, and began working on coalitions with nativist, Jew-hating Christian collectivists nostalgic for Herbert Hoover’s “new race” with its vice-squad prohibitionism and economy-wrecking enforcement.
Republican financial crises began with the banning of alcohol and weaponizing of substance prohibition. By 1923 there were thrice as many communists with party cards for a short while. After the 1929 Crash, communist party membership increased sevenfold. Republicans, convinced that making production a crime was good for the economy, blamed FDR for the 4-year Depression he inherited and worried that communists would soon have Christians arrested and shot. Hitler’s every platform, book, speech and pamphlet promised to protect Christianity against communism and Jewish selfishness. That message worked in America–not as well as in Germany–but well enough for purposes of rearmament and takeovers. Czechoslovakia and Austria were soon gobbled up like the Los Angeles German-American Association.
Jewish companies and banks were “Aryanized” and Jews together with other “non-Germans” enslaved and worked to death. Shrewd operators who’d helped the Nazis became fabulously wealthy cartel captains. After May, 1945, Americans noticed the Soviet socialists were not very different from Hitler’s Christian variety. Denazification efforts withered and a select few moguls emerged with fabulous fortunes intact and inuring to the benefit of their heirs and assigns as East Germany was communized and Cold War replaced artillery battles and actinic flashes.
Fast forward to 2016, when Libertarian party presidential candidates got 4 million votes yet spoiled only the popular vote for mixed-economy mogul Donald Trump. Televangelists latched onto the Don as radio priests had swooned for the Fuhrer 3/4 of a century earlier. Was Christian National Socialism making a comeback? Jewish Judge Ruth Ginsburg died, replaced by a blonde, coercive-natalist Mutterkreuz-qualified Christian populist. Brazil elected a fanatical girl-bullying Christian military strongman and the snowball gathered. By May of 2019 a young billionaire heiress of a Nazi slaver cartel bragged “I am a Capitalist!” The influencer was not Ayn Rand, but Germany’s Ludwig von Mises Institute, purveyors of “Austrian” economics eager to end meddlesome government intrusions–such as America’s 13th and 14th Amendments. Before the Libertarian Convention of 2020 planned for Austin, Texas, some sort of Red Chinese bio-weapon release began a global pandemic. Financial Action Task Force looters soon met in Paris under that shadowy outfit’s Chinese president and a financial crash promptly hit securities markets and banking systems. The LP convention in Austin was scrubbed, no big deal, right? Another convention could be planned. (link)
The Libertarian Party had way more than tripled its vote share in the middle of a bare-knuckles fistfight between Grabbers Of Pussy and East German-style Democrats. The GOP priority–ever since that single Libertarian spoiler vote for a woman led the Suprema Corte to protect women’s individual rights against Christian National Socialist efforts to bring back involuntary servitude and forced labor in 1973–was to bring back Comstockism and deprive women of individual rights. Against this was former First Lady Clinton seeking to protect that jurisprudence while still allowing shoot-first prohibitionism against plant leaves, no-knock Stasi searches and asset-forfeiture looting. Only women and a few libertarians noticed a clear distinction between the two Kleptocracy halves in America, or were aware of parallels between the Republican platform and those of Christian National Socialist Germany. Those similarities were noticed–with whoops of joy–by other Christian racial collectivists, notably in Germany. Barely four years old, the Alternative für Deutschland popped up on radar as the AfD, whose regional chair for Nuremberg–of all places–was outed for circulating a photo of Adolf Hitler captioned to beg for his return. This was in February, 2017. By September of that year, the party had metastasized into a nuisance rabble shouting slogans at competing party rallies.
The Wall Street Journal reported that a 2018 poll showed 71% of U.S. voters were happy with the Roe v Wade curb on selective coercion of women by the several states. By then the Germanic version of the “pro-life” movement–financed in part by gold chiseled out of Jewish teeth–had doubled down on its 2017 platform calling for female loss of individual rights the minute fertilization of an ovum occurs. By November the party’s racial collectivism, xenophobia and mystical fascination with the “race-suicide” theories TR had discussed with the Kaiser had replaced all ties with the facts of reality. German government agencies in war paint began circling the AfD, which sensibly shifted emphasis to the relegalization of energy conversion, exposing warmunist fraud, and maybe looking for an escape route. Libertarian Wes Benedict reacted defensively to AfD criticism of Saracen hordes moving into Germany, preaching toleration. Yet cracks again began to form in the LP. At our convention in Orlando, Florida, anarcho-communist infiltrators put one of their own on the top ticket. That, the uninspected entry plank amendment and the vigilante extrajudicial killings plank sufficed to reverse our 328% gain in votes and kick us off the ballot in half the states. The LP was ripe for a hostile takeover by some hostile foreign ideologues. Already Donald Trump had shown how effective it was to feign appreciation of the love-starved Libertarian Party and get a foot in the political door. Could Nazi-financed foreign ideologues experienced in infiltrating American politics and smuggling their agenda succeed the way Trump had succeeded?

Good reading: Political Competition, Theory and Practice, by John Roemer (Free Sample) The free sample leaves out the challenging math and discouraging price tag, yet provides a look at how people paid to run serious political analysis approach the subject in the 21st Century. Johnny Von Neumann’s game theory has evolved beyond “Nuke Russia Now” to illuminate political competition balked by the Three-Party Problem.(link) The author is not libertarian, and like all funded, grants-consuming establishment elites, equivocates “ideal” with “financed at gunpoint.” Yet libertarians can exploit his breakdown of any party into militants, opportunists and reformists (winning, policy, publicity). The author’s blind spot blurs the definition of winning and fogs the fact that libertarians join the first two and are frustrated by the third. We seek to minimize the initiation of force, so winning boils down to changing laws by helping voters declare against coercive policies. (Getting major seats is chimerical since The Nixon anti-Libertarian law has rigged the system since 1971, link). Voters therefore exploit libertarian spoiler vote leverage to cause entrenched soft machines to change their planks, policies and laws. THIS is reform, and is frustrated by clowns pushing anarco-X versions of communo-fascist socialism under color of “getting attention.” The sample is worth perusing, and you can’t beat the price.

Most striking are the omissions. Four years earlier the Dems were split asunder over Ku-Klux Klan bigotry. Like the Libertarian party Convention of 2022, which deleted platform condemnations of bigotry, the Dems failed to deplore the Klan. Offended by the attempt, the bone-dry prohibitionist Ku-Klux Klan promptly threw its support behind the Republican Party. The GOP in turn adopted the Klan’s endorsement of the prohibition Amendment and added a plank promising to enforce dry laws–which since 1927 had added the Bureau of Internal Revenue to their arsenal.(link)
The movie does not mention the Opium Wars or boycott pressure exerted on the USA to support prohibitionism. The Hague Convention of 1909, organized and pushed by Americans, called for prohibition legislation in many countries. Its impending ratification was the impetus behind the Balkan Wars that escalated into WW1. No, the war was not caused by a lone anarco-collectivist assassin. Belgium, the first battlefield, was covered in opium poppies and still is.(link) In fact, every country south of Switzerland and Austria and East of Italy–The Balkan States–produced opium for refining in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. France farmed Cochin-China (Vietnam) and England harvested India and Burma for raw materials. The U.S. imported opium from Persia. Today, the entire Mediterranean coast from Spain, down the west coast of Italy to Sicily, Greece and Cyprus are home to endemic wild opium poppies.(link) When China cut off imports in 1911, economic instability led to war which quickly raised opium prices. Developed countries with chemical industries used the drug as a self-collecting tax on colonies and primitive populations. Another detail: The movie is full of Christian and Mohammedan clergy, but acknowledges no Jews.
Herbert Hoover witnessed opium prohibition problems in China during the Opium War westerners have relabeled the Boxer Rebellion, mayhaps to liken it to a cowboys ‘n indians movie or Charleton Heston documendacity. Belgian mining and railroad corporations were everywhere in China, as were smugglers and public beheadings of addicts. Hoover was so prohibitionist he made his interpreter gulp down both their drinks while the host was not looking. So Herbert Hoover’s Republican party, now fortified with extra Klan, was dedicated to enforcing Constitutional Prohibition, whatever the cost. But sending men with guns to make trade and production illegal, like lynch mobs, were not the sort of thing polite society mentioned outside of newspaper articles and cartel-forming Convention meetings behind closed doors with inaccessible debates and records–at least as far as war-igniting drug prohibition is concerned.(link)
The Tenth Assembly of the League of Nations sat in Geneva September 2 through 25, 1929. Its Fifth Committee discussed international prohibition of non-habit-forming stimulants and addictive narcotics, records of which are diligently hidden from public inspection. In fact, only the Government of New Zealand makes ANY worthwhile documentation on the subject viewable at all.(link) There at least one becomes aware of the existence of Document A. 86 1929, with the caveat–repeated to this day–that violent prohibition agents with guns blazing are only sent charging out “for the protection of women and children.” What is certain is that United States stock market quotations reached a maximum on between the end of August and 02SEP1929, the day the Tenth Assembly began its prohibitionist dog-and-pony shows in Geneva. To Republicans this is, pick one: (A) pure coincidence, or (B) normal business cycles

Libertarian donors in Georgia harvested over ten votes per dollar donated to Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver. That’s the tall blue bar in the graph. The Almighty Dollar invested in a Libertarian candidate gave a return in votes two hundred times larger (yep, 200x) than for a similar dollar wasted on one of God’s Own Prohibitionist candidates. Our votes return was almost 700 times as large as the vote gain wrought by tossing a dollar at the Democratic Party, which since Sherman’s March across Georgia has increasingly learned the value of protecting individual rights of women.(link)
Georgia is the State that gave its 12 electoral votes to George Wallace in 1968.(link) Thanks to the Libertarian Party, the parties of Wallace, Nixon and Agnew just saw two black candidates roundly beaten in the votes-per-dollar category by an armed and gay libertarian.(link) Looking at the graph you’d have to agree with George Wallace that–in terms of votes per dollar–“there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the Democrat and Republican parties.” And on the graph you can hardly tell them apart. So how do the numbers stack up?
There’s the table. One thin dime buys a Libertarian donor a vote. Girl-bullying prohibitionists had to shell out $20 for every vote endorsing increased coercion and stock market crashes. Dems had to shell out roughly $64 per vote for higher taxes and restoring the individual rights women once gained via the Libertarian Party platform in 1973.
We’ve already seen how leveraged Libertarian spoiler votes help voters get rid of the most obnoxious and detestable looter candidates–and toss their abhorrent platform planks out after them.(link) We’ll be looking at more examples of how sending money to pro-choice Libertarian party candidates can more than offset Republican infiltrator attempts to make the LP into a smaller, harder, angrier version of National Socialist Republicanism.(link) Stay tuned, but remember, this is about the economics of winning back rights.(link)
